Historia
The last time Brantley Kincaid had an argument with someone, he was 18 years old - and he regrets it like he will never regret anything again. If only he had not balked at going to pick up his grandfather that day, his mother would not have driven into the path of a truck, and there would be two fewer graves in Merritt Cemetery. Though a frequent visitor, he hasn't lived in Merritt since burying his mother and grandfather. But now he's coming back, and it might not be so easy to hide behind his wit and charisma.

Great story but!

I love this series, but in this book the narrator on several occasions calls the main character. Bradley, not Brantley, and gets several other things incorrect which is distracting. the narrator does a good job of portraying the different characters, in fact, I wish she had done the other series that spin off of this one rather than the narrator they had.

love this series, narrator not so much.

I love this series, but starting with this book, the narrator has some very bad habits, like exceptionally long pauses before saying a character's name in the middle of dialogue. She also can't keep one of the character's names straight. I had to re-listen to several sections of the book to realize that Lana ( short a sound) and Lana (long a sound) were the same character. There are several tropes used a lot throughout this series that are a little bit excessive... for example every male character is called the by their last name by their love interest, and every female character is given a sappy and sometimes forced nickname by their love interest. In this particular book, " glitter bug," just seems forced. The stories of this series, and the character development and how they overlap with the other books, but a lot of it seems regurgitated once you get into the stories.
