A Truly Disappointing Read

It's an interesting premise and cool spin on the Christian Creation, but then the author seems to forget that she's based their Creation off of an existing Pantheon and tries to be *more* sci-fi/fantasy by having her characters invoke "the gods" on a few occasions. I could handle the love story, the conflict, the twist(s), but I think it might've gone better with a different narrator. I've read other reviews calling her style melodramatic and I have to say that I agree. She was fine at first, then it seemed like maybe the director told her to turn the over-excitable up to 11.

Sanderson love is real

I feel like I'm entering a new reality every time I read a Sanderson novel. The narrators have a tendency to pronounce words differently (the descriptive linguist in me prevents me from saying "wrong") which can be jarring at times, but overall a fabulous read.
