In this Audible Original “mini-memoir”, the Academy Award-winning star of Little Miss Sunshine and Argo looks back on his life as a series of philosophical turning points, learning experiences, and a-ha moments. Drawn from a collection of seemingly inexplicable stories and encounters from Arkin's 84 years on this planet, Out of My Mind is a candid, relatable and delightfully irreverent take on how one man went searching for meaning and ended up discovering himself.

So disappointed
Revisado: 12-29-18
Having enjoyed Mr Arkins performances over the years I was disappointed by the horrible way that he “performed” his story. Further I felt that it was a quasi-proselytizing effort to convince people to embrace this psychic-surgery business. So buyer beware!!

I love Kate Morton's books!!! You have to pay attention because she leads you on a merry chase.
If you have never read her, take the plunge!
I have no doubt that you will love it.
The narrator is amazing as well, money well spent. I keep going back to her books and read them over and over.

I actually purchased all three books and inadvertently "read" them in reverse order. It didn't change the weighty truth wrapped in the emotion of the people that were personally involved in the situation. A depth of thought, a putting oneself above another. Wonderful

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

A stunning, heartwrenching story.
Revisado: 10-04-15
I absolutely love Kristin Hannah. When I got the Nightingale I had no idea what it was about. I have not encountered very many books that take you into France and what the people of France went through while Hitler was in power. In the way that she always does, Hannah puts you right there with the characters, as if you are in the room with them and you hold your breath or give them suggestions on what to do. She brings the story to life and breaks your heart with sadness and swells it back to life with joy and love that comes.
From the depths of despair, to the heights of love and everywhere in between listen to a story about the bravery and depth of spirit of a family in France. You won't be disappointed.

Just when you thought that you just couldn't believe any more, or be caught up and involved in any more, you find yourself preparing for another journey through the stones. You wonder what Claire is about for a bit, but then you realize.
You are introduced to a host of new characters and keep the ones you met in the previous one. Yes, you can get attached to more people and actually keep it straight and understand it. You will find yourself amazed yet again by the author's amazing hand at crafting the places, people, relationships and staying true to history, geography, emotions and legends.
You will once again be amazed by Davina Porter. I don't know if there is anyone that could have done this series justice after hearing how Davina did this book. Her incredible presentation was far more than a narration in my opinion. She is absolutely Top Shelf - Three Star Michelin Chef of Audio Presentations.

Pulled right into the mists of the Highland heathe
Revisado: 05-03-15
I have listened to a lot of audio books, read a lot of books as well and I must say that I have rarely been as impressed by the character development, story development, and having the pictures drawn for you in words.
I have always been in love with the area that this story is based in and the time and research that Diana Gabaldon has done gives a richness and depth to the story. You could draw a picture of the places she describes, the outfits that Claire and others are wearing and you run the gambit of emotions as the drama takes you on a roller coaster ride. You find your self tense, laughing, crying and not that this is an isolated incident, but it was just an incredible journey.
Be Warned! You will want to read the next book as soon as this one is done, it is truly addictive.

The story was amazing, but unless you speak French and French culinary, it can be a bit
overwhelming. I loved hearing it at first but it got a bit cumbersome when he rattled off these french names.

In these days of the twisting of truth to be whatever you want it to be and discarding TRUTH to the god of the politically correct it is refreshing to see someone still sharing the truth!!
