What more could you ask for in an audiobook?
Matthew McConaughey is one of the great actors of our time.
Loved him early on in his career, gave up on him during the rom-com years, and was thrilled to see him shine in Mud, Lincoln Lawyer, Dallas Buyer's Club, Magic Mike (a ridiculous movie in which he was amazing),True Detective.....
He's great and this book is, as you'd imagine, as interesting and crazy as the man himself. Also exhausting by the end.

I actually hated everything about this book, including the narration which I found overdone and extremely cloying. It’s rare I don’t finish a book, be it a hard copy or an audiobook.

A great diversion from the gravitas of the daily goings-on around the world, this book was a lot of fun. Rob Lowe gains my respect for staying relevant in the entertainment business for decades while also managing to stay married, neither of which is an easy task. Rob is a great narrator of his own story, which in itself is very entertaining.

Picked this up when I saw it on the New Yorker’s summer 2019 list and I was disappointed.
I wish this manuscript had another go around with an aggressive editor. The author’s use of brand names, “the hive,” and “pregame” is beyond cloying and really took away from my enjoyment of a fun summer story.
