Historia
Josh Baxter, the man behind the wheel, is a virtual stranger to Charlie. They met at the campus ride board, each looking to share the long drive home to Ohio. Both have good reasons for wanting to get away. For Charlie, it’s guilt and grief over the shocking murder of her best friend, who became the third victim of the man known as the Campus Killer. For Josh, it’s to help care for his sick father - or so he says.

Great Book, Good Narrator
Revisado: 12-10-23
I enjoyed the book. The blurb doesn’t do it justice. It’s about a ride with a serial killer but also so much more. Only issue with narrator was when she voiced Maddie, she sounded middle aged and Maddie is a 20 yr old college student. I understand why she did, but it took me out of the story.

Historia
Abby Maddox is serving 20 years for slashing Seattle PD officer Jerry Isaac's throat during the harrowing capture of her former lover, serial killer Ethan Wolfe. To the demented fans, lunatics, and creeps on the outside, she is a celebrity. But to Jerry, now a private investigator whose scarred neck and tortured speech are daily reminders of Abby's vicious attack, she alone may be the key to solving a new wave of murders. Because this killer has been sending her love letters, and carving a message on the victims' bodies: Free Abby Maddox.

I don’t know why people complained about the narrator in other reviews. I think she did a fantastic job!

Interesting Story, Annoying Main
Revisado: 11-06-23
The main character was annoying, to me. I found most of the book interesting and would suggest it, but it honestly felt like the main character was not understanding basic principles. I really enjoyed the writing, but there was a lot of nonsense (character flaw, not writing flaw 😆).

Great characters that I grew to care about, even if I hated them. It’s been a long time since I gave up sleep to a book, but I did for this one. Totally recommend.

I enjoyed the series and loved the story. I just felt the ending here dragged needlessly long. It felt dragged out. I did like the way it ended, but I felt like it took too long to get there.

A little Gen Z for this Gen X lol
Revisado: 09-19-23
This book is definately up on the current slang and political climate. It’s great, I just worry it will date the book a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably give it a reread later (the mark of a 5 ⭐️ for me). It’s fun and twisty and interesting. I was a bit worried about it being an old idea regurgitated for a new gen, but it did a perfect job. It was familiar enough to be comfortable and new enough to remain exciting. Would love to see a movie version.

Enjoyed this story more than I thought I would. Engrossing and twisty. Just when I think we’re almost done, new information makes things shift. This is rarely done well in my opinion. This book doesn’t disappoint.
