Entertaining but inconsistent (In Progress, minor spoilers)
Revisado: 04-07-25
I’m enjoying this series as a whole but there are a few immersion breaking moments but my current review deals with one in particular at this point. So if you’re this far into the series you’ll know who Shane is. In the previous books he’s been in he was portrayed as an older guy with a damaged past based off his interactions with other characters and how he was written plus being retired to the point he wasn’t in the period to be recalled to active duty but suddenly he’s young and a possible romantic rival to Brad. It just threw me out of my immersion. Once I finish I may come back and change this.

Historia
Ragnarok is near and the Vikings of Midgard have failed to uphold their duty to prevent it. With time running out, the All-Father Odin himself, searches all the worlds for one last warrior who might hold back the destruction threatening Nine Realms and every world created. Magnus’s death caught the All-Father’s one good eye. As an Army Ranger, he knew he was placing himself in the line of fire every day, and knew a day could come that cost him his life. What he didn't want was the rest of his team would be wiped out with him, the worst disaster the Rangers had experienced in decades.

Rough Start to an Amazing Finish
Revisado: 10-08-24
I really wanted to return this book due to the beginning, it was painful dealing with the inaccuracy of the MCs time as a Army Ranger. It felt like I was dealing with a 90s to early 2000s military show/movie when they just used pop culture knowledge rather than actually ask someone for accurate information. However, after slogging through it I couldn’t stop listening, I enjoyed the narrator and the Viking lore! I am excited for book 2 but if the author is going to incorporate more military stuff please talk to someone who was/is actually a Ranger!

Historia
A life spent honing his skills and serving his country hasn’t turned out exactly how Nathaniel Abrams planned, but it’s attracted the attention of the Tower. Ascending to its peak is meant to give anyone whatever they wish for, but all Nate cares about is finding some way to use the skills that seem so useless in civilian life. And if he can prevent a magical wish being given to some maniac (because the Tower seems to love welcoming maniacs through its doors), then that’ll be a bonus. Besides, Nate has an edge.

In Progress, Entertaining with minor issues so far!
Revisado: 07-19-24
I will come back and finish this review later but I am enjoying this book. The voice actor is solid and the story is enjoyable. The one problem I have is that the authors get most of the gun lingo and knowledge right but so far I’ve run into the following line “the hammer on the Glock” Glocks do not have a hammer, he may have meant slide in the context it was used. Minor issue but it can break the immersion

Historia
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

Amazing book!
Revisado: 10-30-23
I don’t write a lot of reviews but with the 2nd book finally coming out tomorrow I decided to.
Potential Spoilers
This series is written by two of my favorite authors and voiced by one of the absolute best in the business and they delivered. The book has an amazing story and the tidbits you learn about the world makes me want to learn more! The only single issue I have with this book is how the antagonist is an absolute jerk to the MC the whole series but after an incident, the MCs long time best friend suddenly develops feelings for the person who makes Rays life absolute hell. It shouldn’t matter how tragic his unknown backstory is, she is still crushing on the guy who tried to “kill” her best friend and bullied him almost start to finish of the book. It just seemed shallow to me, hopefully these actions will all make sense and reverse my thoughts after book 2.

Historia
Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before. A killer who is just like him. Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry.

In progress review
Revisado: 09-17-22
So far I’m enjoying this book and enjoyed the previous ones as well. I’m a bit of gear and gun snob and after hearing that one character was using a Knights SR-25 had me excited until it was said that it would shot a 5.56 round at the target. A SR-25 is a 7.62x51 rifle not a 5.56. I know this is belated as there are numerous other books at this point but I hope the author has become more knowledgeable about firearms and their characteristics. Not a huge issue but definitely broke my immersion

Historia
Boyd Knight found his calling when he joined the Marines and qualified for the elite Force Recon. He'd found a tribe and a family, so when a hand grenade landed near his team, he jumped on it without thought or regret. But instead of winding up dead, he wakes up butt-naked in a cave full of monsters with a knife in one hand and a pistol in the other. He's been chosen by Raguel, the Five-Faced God of Justice, and entrusted with the power of the Vigil Bound.

Can’t wait for the next in the series!
Revisado: 08-25-22
So Luke is amazing as always and brings Boyd to life and his talent had me feeling a range of emotions but mainly had me laughing at all the right points. My only complaint and I hope the author keeps up with reviews is firearm terminology. The book would go into all the gun lingo a true enthusiast or someone with extensive experience with guns then suddenly say things “clip” rather than magazine or 5.54 rather than 5.56. It would break my immersion from an overall great books. But as I said, I really enjoyed the book and narrator and can’t wait for the next one!
