True Crime Copy!
Revisado: 04-15-25
I live in idaho and this author obviously, shamelessly copied the content from our college tragedy in Moscow. the students in real life lived on king road, the students in her book live on queen lane. the students in real life are often referred to as the idaho four, while the students in her book are called "the delphi three". even the names and physical descriptions of the victims are similar. i can't believe that someone didn't tell the author this was in poor taste. it's actually kind of offensive.

Stealing Nicknames and phrases
Revisado: 02-03-25
I have always been a fan of this author, but recently I've noticed very similar nicknames and phrases "borrowed " from popular TV shows. For instance in this book she calls her baby Little Tuna which seems too close to The Office where one of the characters nickname is Big Tuna. In Dead Med (which I returned bcz this drove me crazy) she kept referring to a handsone med student as Dreamy McHotty ( or something along that line) which is straight from the TV series Grey's Anatomy. Just something I've noticed to be a bit of a pattern, and it bugs me.

Historia
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

mid-way review, not impressed yet....
Revisado: 10-12-24
So far this book is really strange. It doesn't feel true to the characters and the story. It starts off with a three year estrangement Between a daughter and a father. They reconnect over the the daughters upcoming marriage. But then the next ten chapters just rambles on and on about the fathers neediness to spend every second with tbe daughter. It just doesn't seem like true behavior after a three year separation. The story doesn't seem to be building very quickly, or with much substance. I will keep going at this point, And maybe edit my review later.
This father is really annoying and needy.

No substance
Revisado: 12-23-23
This has been one of the stupidest books I have ever listened to ..... Well let me rephrase that: I couldn't listen to it all. There is no substance to the story line , The characters have no depth or backstory. And who hangs out with their airbnb host?!? This one was free for me But if you're thinking of spending any money on this title , Keep looking.

I've never hated a character more!
Revisado: 09-26-23
I have never hated a character more than Brooke. she is just stupid and so annoying. The whole story about a girl being put into prison employment where her attacker is housed, is just too far out there. none of this would ever happen
I have enjoyed this authors other books, but this was just a dumb story. no.

Not my Favorite
Revisado: 01-02-23
The story is a little slow in general. I was drawn in quickly, and was eager to see their lives unfolding. There were several hours in the middle that was just so incredibly boring that it was difficult to continue. I was glad to finish this book. I would have returned it early on, but audible has changed their return policy.....👎

Historia
On a whim, Grady Kendall applies to work as a live-in caretaker for a luxury property in Hawaiʻi, as far from his small-town Maine life as he can imagine. Within days he's flying out to an estate on remote Hokuloa Road, where he quickly uncovers a dark side to the island’s idyllic reputation: it has long been a place where people vanish without a trace. When a young woman from his flight becomes the next to disappear, Grady is determined—and soon desperate—to figure out what's happened to Jessie, and to all those staring out of the island’s “missing" posters.

could he BEEEE any more self-absorbed!?
Revisado: 11-28-22
ugh...I get it, actors are NOT their character roles. I guess I like Chandler Bing and not so much Matthew Perry. I'm sorry he has been through so much, and he really has been through a lot! But this book came across self-absorbed, entitled, spoiled rich kid, mean-spirited, eager to blame others.
it's hard to hear him claim to grieve the loss of a friend in one breath and in the very next breath wish ill upon another.
I did finish the book, but I had to take lots and lots of breaks. I do believe his slurred speech is a result of dental trauma and I do believe he is living clean, but I also believe he has a lot of healing and recovery yet.
He is correct when he says, Chandler Bing matured and surpasses Matthew Perry. IMO, Wait for this title to go on sale.

I had a hard time following the storyline. I had a hard time listening to the narrator, specifically her interpretation of Donnys voice. a little over-acted imo.
