Historia
One September morning, Doug accidentally runs right into another surfer on the beach. There are rules about these things. The other guy should call Doug a jerk, Doug should say, "my bad", and they should both paddle back out and move on. Problem is, the other surfer doesn't want to move on. He wants to fight. And for once in his life, Doug wants to fight back.

Great story, sad, happy, compelling, leaves you glad you listened. Harris was delightful as a narrator.

Historia
When a promising local artist disappears, the victim's brother begs Detective Tara Thorpe to take the case. It seems there's no evidence of foul play...he simply disappeared without a trace. Tara agrees to do some digging...never mind that her unorthodox approach to policing has got a few of her colleagues' backs up. Amongst them is her former supervisor Detective Patrick Wilkins...he's had enough of Tara calling the shots and will do anything to knock her down. She must be careful.

Narrator was so distracting I gave up
Revisado: 12-29-23
I appreciate the free books on audible. I often listen to one and then buy several more when I like the author. Glad this was free because I was so distracted by the monotone voice or the English narrator that after several hours I gave up. The cadence of every sentence was the same. Da da da… da. Sadly I won’t seek out more of her books because I can’t tell if it was just the narrator or the poor writing causing her to do it.

Everything - story, narration, character development

What a fabulous story and presentation. Loved the characters, drama, just enough action, terror and anticipation without detracting from the story.

Historia
For the members of SEAL Team Six, it was a rare mission ordered by the president, monitored in real time from the Situation Room. Houthi rebels in Yemen had captured an American journalist and a member of the Saudi royal family. Their executions were scheduled for Easter Sunday. The SEAL team were to break them out. But when the mission results in spectacular failure, the finger-pointing goes all the way to the top. Paige Chambers, a determined young lawyer, has a very personal reason for wanting to know the answer.

Not my favorite but still good
Revisado: 11-05-23
Randy Singer has become one of my new favorite authors so I’ve been binge listening to his on audible. This book is my least favorite of the four I’ve listened too, but still good. I think a big contribution to my dislike was the narration. She sounds very young and shallow, although that may be the words she’s reading. Anyway, it was free, worth the read and I will be in to the next one of his.

When English agent Gene Hawkins told his boss he'd forego his vacation to search for millionaire Dave Teller's prized missing stallion, he didn't know his retainer would include the attention of his boss's beautiful teenage daughter - or Teller's seldom sober wife. He also didn't know that a trail from London to New York to Las Vegas to California would lead eventually to murder.

My favorite Francis
Revisado: 03-26-23
I’m on an audible Dick Francis binge. I’ve listened to 7 in a row. Although I read many of his a few decades ago, they are all new to me now. They’ve all been delightful but this is my favorite, edgy, unexpected. Love the travels in the U. S. To places I’ve been. His character is quite different. Loved it all

Historia
In this, the fourth installment of the Doyle and Acton mystery series, Detective Sergeant Doyle realizes that several apparently unrelated murders are actually "containment" murders - murders to contain an ominous scandal that could reach into the highest levels of Scotland Yard's CID. In the process of tracking down the killers, however, she comes to the unsettling conclusion that Chief Inspector Acton has committed a containment murder or two of his own.

Only mediocre Sarah Graves I’ve read
Revisado: 01-06-23
Maybe the problem was listening to everyone of her books in a row with each getting better, great stories, getting more edgy, loved them all, then this… boring, soooo predictable, I spent the whole thing saying “you’ve got to be kidding? She’s not that stupid (the heroine, not the writer)” So… she knows the bad guy killed at least three people, is trying to kill her, he’s trapped and holding a gun but she’s still going to risk her life to save him? For what? The electric chair? Oh wait, no death penalty in Maine. The reader, as always, excellent. If you want white noise to cook by, need something that’s easy to pause and go back to, this one. So I’ll take a break from her for a bit, then definitely read another. I do love Sarah Graves books. This one I hope is an anomaly.
