Historia
Edward and his wife Jean lose nearly everything, and are forced to relocate to a rundown family property in a small Texas town. Despair sets in when they can’t find the property and their car stops running, until they meet Ray, a Christian man who feels called to help. Ray and his wife open their hearts and home, calling on the church members to help the young couple. But Edward doesn’t trust Ray or the church - and in fact, Ray’s insistence that he and the church only want to help, no strings attached, threatens Edward’s belief the church is not what they claim to be.

The real American ride
Revisado: 01-22-21
There is a homely honesty and calmness about this story that invokes the best of what I have experienced in America. Edward is the sceptic who needs the support of family and friends to see the truth about himself, life and God.
I love how cars are woven into the story. If something happens, there's a car involved! This makes the story genuine for men.
The narrator matches the tone of the book very well. He makes each voice distinct and easy to recognize. I would listen to his books again.

Historia
How brave must you be to love a dragon? Keira loves her rustic village life, but she doesn't love the man her overbearing mother expects her to marry. But that is of little consequence to her neighbors, especially as two newcomers have stirred up excitement in the village. The first new arrival is Aaron Drake, handsome and charming, and intent on pursuing Keira, which stirs up trouble with her mother and soon-to-be-betrothed. As for the other new arrival, who wants a fire-breathing dragon living in their backyard?

A Sensuous Immersion
Revisado: 01-24-20
This is my first experience with reading a book and then listening to a narrator read the same story. Linda K Hopkins creates a full sensory world with vivid description of just the right details and Josephine Hall’s rich, velvety voice drips those details straight into the listener’s heart.
With creative genius, Hopkins tackles some scary themes in this story. The characters have to make dire choices and do things that don’t fall into a normal life, but the rewards are also deeper and more lavish than a normal life can hold. Hall clearly distinguishes between the characters with a wide variety of voices and the emotion of the events builds and builds to the stunning climax.
I recommend this book to all dragon lovers.

Love talking about the Weather
Revisado: 11-21-19
A storm throws them together, rules tear them apart. The theme of sacrifice for the good of others is a strong current in this book. There are telling details that bring the characters to life and make them personable and easy to relate to.
The Narrator's voice is gentle and relaxing to listen to. She makes it easy to know who is speaking, and the emotion in her voice is subdued, which allows lots of room for the listener to feel for themselves.
