Love the dynamics of the two MCs
Revisado: 06-22-24
This is my third time listening to the book and I pretty much love the interactions between our two main characters. The world also felt like it was alive and new to discover. Great read!

Historia
Honor is secondary to survival. Reeling from their losses at Callinicum, the Roman army has repulsed the Persians from Mesopotamia, but at horrendous cost. Belisarius’ improbable triumph at Dara is cast aside by a vengeful legate, condemning Constantinople’s vaunted general to ignominious imprisonment. With his last order, Belisarius pleads with Varus to lead the army to safety and to bring peace to a shattered land.

Worth the listen
Revisado: 07-25-23
I feel like this is worth a listen to because it captures the emotions, struggles, and motivations of our characters as they try to achieve their goal.
The narration just elevates an already interesting story to new heights with distinguishable voices, and smooth transitions.

The thief made me stay
Revisado: 03-02-20
At first I thought the thief was going to be an annoying character in the story but I am glad I was proven wrong. As I listened further down the book, their adventures and misfortune, together with the superb voice acting by Luke Daniels, kept me intrigued and looking forward to the thief's storyline. The story is grim, really grim, but I love it. Cheers to everyone involved in making this book possible!

Thoroughly enjoyed the incredibly beautiful world the author had created. With the narrator helping to flesh out the world with different voices, it felt as though I was living through the events of the story and made me want to continue knowing what happens.
it's too good that I listened to the entire series a couple of times.

It's sad to know that this is the conclusion of the trilogy. It's sad because it is so good that I had to listen all three books twice.

There isn't much going on in this book compared to the previous action packed books. This one concentrates much to the state of mind of the characters and it was a little refreshing. Would recommend to friends!

Amazing Book!
Revisado: 08-20-16
The earlier part of the story can be confusing at first but as I delve deeper into the story, the world was visible in my imagination.
The narrator did an amazing job with the book. The best I've heard so far in my library. Can't wait to get my hands on the second book.
Highly recommend.
