Historia
When an ambitious teenage girl from Earth finds herself in a magical realm, she could be the hero—but she'd prefer to be the villain. When power-hungry Everly is reborn into a medieval world where elemental magic rules and she receives her elemental servants—the oddly sadistic Eris and the fun-loving Titania—years earlier than one typically would, she knows she's destined for a command of necromantic magic the likes of which her peers can only dream.

Everly is refreshingly evil.
Revisado: 11-24-24
I don't know if I'm just a sick person or what but oh my god I love the mc. She's selfish, arrogant, sadistic, murderous, unempathetic and self aware. She has her blind spots but for the most part she not only knows how evil she is, she's trying to be evil. It's fun. The world she's in is a fairly serious medieval fantasy setting. There are good guys and bad guys and plenty of grey area. What sets Everly apart is that she the only person who is dedicated to playing the role of a villain. There's no tragic backstory here. No convoluted villainous motivations, no last minute attempts at humanization and no punches pulled. Not for everyone but I definitely love it. The only problem is focus. There are a couple of moments in the story where it seems like the mc isn't consistent in her approach or in what she cares about. That's why the story gets 4 stars. really I'd rather give it 4.5. It's not for everyone but it scratched an itch I didn't know I had.

Historia
What are you supposed to do when the whole world joins forces against you? Give up, find some hole to duck into, and beg for your life to be spared? But even despite how obvious the answer to that question might be, many an adult had been dashed on the rocks 12-year-old Tailyn Vlashich was supposed to climb. Ahead of him lay a secret laboratory belonging to the ancients; behind was a horde headed by his sworn enemy. But through it all, Tailyn had those who loved him, those who believed in him, and that support was enough to carry him to the ends of the Earth.

it's like it's trying really hard to disappoint and frustrate the reader.
Revisado: 06-07-24
I like the magic and all that. But the characters suck. The mc does everything for them and they constantly dismiss and disrespect him. He flip flops between being an annoying 12 year old moron who does impossibly stupid things at the worst moments and an unstoppable genius of warfare who slaughters demigod tier beings over and over. Any time something is introduced as a killable or too dangerous he turns into an emotionless killing machine and figures out the only possible way to win. I can only say, "He's 12," so many times. I think I said that out loud at least 35 times while reading this series. There's no pay off for this story. It does set up really well. I got excited about a few things the books were hinting at only for it be a complete let down. I wish the writer didn't make the mc a child. It feels like that happened to create tension by making the mc stupid whenever convenient and to wring this tortured story for all of the tryhard edginess it can produce. Everything is cynical. Almost everyone is a scumbag. Nothing really goes according to plan. The mc becomes op and gets nerfed over and over. So frustrating.

Morgan used to be a pretty normal guy. He went to college by day and played online games by night, leading his guild into new conquests - until he got hit by a car and a dude wearing a wet suit appeared in front of him. The man offered him a new chance at life in a world he had created, a world with similar rules to the games Morgan loved to play. There is the promise of great rewards and power, he says, if Morgan manages to complete the Tower of Power.

Isekai RPG Elements
Revisado: 05-26-24
I like pretty everything but the main character. In fact I'm mainly leaving this review because I hate the mc. When attempting to create a fish out of water character who doesn't know much of anything about their new environment you have to figure out how to get them up to speed without having them ask question after question. Every single question that pops into Morgan's mind he asks and then asks 15 more. Also, in an attempt to showcase that he's from another world and doesn't know anything he often blurts out really stupid things that nobody would blurt out. Like telling a character he finds intimidating that her name doesn't fit her race. If Morgan was mean spirited or disrespectful it would make sense. If he was arrogant it would make sense. But despite the fact that he's both really nice and scared of the character he basically insults her to her face upon their first meeting. This is just one example. I think the mc is terribly written. Notice that my review score is still quite high. Because everything else is pretty cool. I fully recommend the book.

I just finished the audio books for Solo Leveling, which was pretty good. So good, in fact, that when I was done, I immediately started the series over and almost finished it again when I realized that I'd purchased this book. On a whim, I decided to give it a listen. I'm so glad I did. it's not perfect. But it's stellar. If you like litrpg's, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

The main story ends a bit quickly.
Revisado: 11-08-23
It was sudden, but the side story and epilogue are really sweet. I can see why people were annoyed. a third of the way through the story, it seems like everything we'd actually been invested in was wiped away. But throughout the entire story I did notice that waaaaaaay too many people died and there was too much destruction. Plus, there wasn't much time to flesh out his relationship with Hunter Cha so it was nice that the bonus story/epilogue covered that. All in all I enjoyed it even if i was a bit pissed at the end of like chapter 5. One thing that sucks about the end of most action/adventure/fantasy stories is that after the dramatic climax you want the story to go on for a bit and to see our heroes enjoy the peace they've earned. Think of the ending of Lord of The Rings, for example. It was a bold move, to be sure, but I thoroughly enjoyed the actual day to day of the happy ending. I'm being intentionally vague to avoid spoilers but yeah I can recommend this. Also, I just realized I can type more than 15 words, so this is a review for the whole series 😅. I didn't like Jinwoo very much at first, I have to be honest. He takes way too long to make really easy decisions, he refuses 99% of what people ask of him only to wind up doing it anyway and his character feels a bit inconsistent (not to mention mean) at times. But he's a scrappy God of death and I salute him! Given how overpowered he is, it was nice to see him actually lose a couple of fights in this book and the last one. On last piece of criticism for the last book that was fixed in this one I was annoyed when he stopped leveling up last book so I'm glad they brought that feature back towards the end of this one in an interesting way.

Historia
Saving a country abandoned by the rest of the world has its benefits—international renown, the expansion of his guild, an invitation to the most prestigious hunter conference in the world—but perhaps the most unexpected bonus is a run-in with another Monarch who brings not-so-welcome tidings. If he’s to be believed, a war is coming that not even Jinwoo is strong enough to stop.

Historia
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

I love this book. I've read it at least a dozen times and I'll likely read it again this year. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters to life. At first I didn't enjoy his narration at all but as I continued to listen I began to appreciate him. As it stands now I'll likely keep an eye for his name. All in all a very good experience. 😁
