Changed my view on life
Revisado: 12-08-05
Though people may think I'm gullible for believing everything Sylvia Brown states, I think her ideas definitely spark a new view on life and our roles here. It simplifies things for me, and helps me focus on what I think is important. If you can have an open mind to her ideas, you will benefit greatly from this book.

The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

It made my heart ache!!
Revisado: 12-08-05
If you can read through the first bit, you should have no problem finishing it. The book is so well described it is almost like you're with Pi on his journey.
I loved this book. I loved the creativity of it, and the ending. Or possible alternate stories one can come up with. I went on to read more about the author online and read up on his take on the book. Very interesting. I still think about Pi to this day, even though it's just a character in a novel. The psychological trauma he went through still pains me to this day, as a reader! I certainly don't look at tigers the same way anymore!

Made me want to travel the AT!
Revisado: 12-08-05
This book is funny, and very moving too. I love the Stephen Katz character - he's a riot! It's too bad that our environment is being destroyed though, his facts on our forestry situation is pretty depressing. Apart from that, the book is entertaining, love his accent - it's always nice to hear the author narrate. It's as if you're there with them. It actually drove me to New Hampshire after hearing this to Mt Washington.

Very well articulated
Revisado: 12-08-05
I don't think his views applies to ALL situations today in this modern age, but he has some great suggestions that I still think about everyday now. I think one problem I had was how he suggests not to speak up against someone's view - sometimes I think it is important to express an opposite view. Some of his ideas are a bit too comformist for me. However, I still think it's well worth the listen. I certainly wish more people at my job would listen to this!

Absolutely amazing! Get it now!!
Revisado: 12-08-05
I didn't know anything about Lance Armstrong before I read this, but I learned a lot about what he had to go through. He is a trooper! I listened to the ENTIRE book in one sitting - it was that engaging. I also sent it to my relative who has cancer, with just as little survival rate as Lance - this gives hope and courage to other cancer patients. Can you imagine winning the Tour de France 7 times after going through all the chemo and having less than 3% chance of survival? Just the most amazing story. A MUST "Listen"!!

Historia
Bill Maher first came to national attention as the host of the hit program Politically Incorrect, in which he offered a combustible mixture of irreverence and acerbic humor that garnered him a loyal following. In his popular and long-running HBO television show, Real Time with Bill Maher, his reputation for being a hilarious provocateur continues. One particular segment of the show—"New Rules"—strikes a chord with viewers every week. In this collection, Maher brings these brilliantly conceived riffs to audio, along with some singularly Maher-ian "editorials".

Historia
Finding logical inconsistencies, factual errors, and doublespeak wherever he looks, Al Franken takes on and destroys the myth of liberal bias in the media, hoists the Bush White House on its own rhetorical petard, and punctures the mean-spirited sanctimony of such media darlings as Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always uproarious, Lies is sure to raise hackles and spark hilarity inside the Beltway and from sea to shining sea.

LOVED it. Audio IS THE BEST CHOICE
Revisado: 12-08-04
You get clips of actual speeches and things in the audio version, and he adds a comment or two in the audio book which you will never get in the actual book. So it's WELL WORTH the listen. I loved his Harvard research crew, I think they were a great asset. The narration was wondeful, and funny. There were quite a few LOL moments. I thought that he was very fair in his arguments, and they were well-supported. He makes the right wing nuts look ridiculous as they are. I wish O'Reilly's sex scandle took place before he wrote this, because he would have killed it. And the 2004 election results. But I'm sure he will have another book out again. I'm interested to listen to his radio broadcast now, the O'Franken Factor.

You've probably heard clips from Senator Clinton's interview with Barbara Walters. But now you can listen to her full account of her years in the White House. Hillary Clinton vividly describes her pain over her husband's betrayal with Monica Lewinky saying that former President Bill Clinton lied to her about the relationship until the weekend before he admitted the nature of it to a grand jury.

Good listen and a good read
Revisado: 12-08-04
I read another person's criticism about her narration speed being "too slow", but I prefer the narrator to speak slowly than to speak fast in an audio book. Her speed was not bad, she spoke very clearly and I didn't miss a word. I loved her stories about her family, and about her relationship with Chelsea. Her struggles with her husband's infidelity made her more 'human' and believable. I almost felt like I knew her by the end of the audio book, which I didn't get in the book itself. The only thing missing was the photos, but you can always look at them at the bookstore...

Historia
President Bill Clinton's My Life is the strikingly candid portrait of a global leader who decided early in life to devote his intellectual and political gifts, and his extraordinary capacity for hard work, to serving the public. It is the fullest, most concretely detailed, most nuanced account of a presidency ever written, and a testament to the positive impact on America and on the world of his work and his ideals.

I enjoyed his narration
Revisado: 12-08-04
His narration was good, and it was easy to listen to. It's good to learn about the scandles, and family affairs from their own perspective, and his battle with white house corruption and right wing scandles were disturbing but interesting to listen to. I wish I had gotten the unabridged because the abridged version is too short and I felt like I hadn't gotten the full picture of his life and work. I found Hillary's book to be more fulfilling in that respect (abridged).
