Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Liked, mostly.
Revisado: 09-01-22
I did not care for the narrators, especially the narrator for Morgan, so I switch to reading this on Kindle Unlimited instead. The story kept me engaged, but without giving away the story, some of the time-lines were unbelievable to me.

Historia
In 1978, Lizzie Morgan and Ritchie Schneider embark on a whirlwind romance on the bright beaches and glamorous yachts of Long Island. Over the years, their relationship has its share of ups and downs, including a nine-month hiatus that ends with a stunning eleven-carat ring—one that looks just like the diamond Richard Burton gifted Liz Taylor after their own separation. Like the famous couple, despite the drama that would unfold throughout the Schneiders’ marriage, the ring would be there as a symbol of their love…until it wasn't.

Liked it, did not love it.
Revisado: 02-24-22
I really wanted to love the book. However, I found that it got long, I wanted more to happen, and I guess I expected more mystery, or something was missing for me. The use of he said, she said, Nathan said, Courtney said, Addie said, drove me a little Batty. Cassandra Campbell’s narration was excellent, however sometimes in listening I felt like I was listening to characters in Where the crawdads sing, but I still love her as a narrator.

Mostly fast paced, last 3rd of book was tedious
Revisado: 02-14-22
I was enjoying the book mostly, despite the author’s use of repetition to reinforce points which didn’t need to be reinforced. The redundancy got a bit tiring after awhile. I enjoyed the unfolding of the relationship between Hannah and Bailey, but found the speed at which they uncracked the mystery in two days in Austin a little unbelievable. The ending was very sad, and while I was longing for a happier ending, I realize this was the writer’s prerogative.

Wanted to love it, but didn't.
Revisado: 02-11-22
I respect the amount of research the author did about Diana's "Covid dreams," and the Author's writing style overall, particularly the scenes in the Galapagos, but once the author entered into Part Two, I was extremely disappointed! I thought the story was disjointed, overwritten, and preachy. While I think I may have understood the character's POV, I didn't find the ending satisfying, It was a big let down.

Historia
Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

I enjoyed the unfolding of this love story
Revisado: 02-05-22
Very sweet story, I was engaged with the characters, though I thought the first couple of chapters were a bit tedious to get through, with too much telling, not enough showing. Once Jake and Casey met, I was all in, and rooting for their success as a couple. The last few chapters were surprising, taking me places I didn’t expect, and I found that to be very refreshing!

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Karma is a ...!
Revisado: 01-29-22
I listened on Audible and really enjoyed the twists and turns, the atmosphere, and the narrators! I'm from the U.S. and I sometimes have difficulty understanding Irish, and even British accents, but I could understand everyone perfectly. I also liked the Author's use of First-person narrative, told by the different perspectives of each individual narrator. All of the characters rang true to me. I figured out one (I thought obvious) detail in the very beginning, but was still very surprised by the ending. This was a real who-dun-it ala Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians," though there wasn't a detective involved!

I loved it!
Revisado: 01-19-22
I just finished listening to this great production of the book. I loved how the story unfolded and the surprise at the end. (However, I guessed the surprise!) Having just published my debut novel “Me, Myself,& Marilyn,” I especially loved the Hollywood setting in the 50s and 60s, and it reminded me of Marilyn’s own tragic life, and what she had to contend with as a young starlet.
