Must be better on TV
Revisado: 07-01-21
I’m a big fan of radio drama as the sounds emhance the narration and dynamic imagery appears in your mind. But, the vital importance of correct sound levels consistent throughout the performance is a must. Unfinished Journey in ‘audible’ form is just that; unfinished. Listening in a car or at home I have to keep the volume control constantly in hand or the performance is missed. Enjoyed the comprehensiveness of the research although it’s organization is could have followed the L & C trek more closely than review randomly placed topics.

Historia
Zuri Benitez has pride. Brooklyn pride, family pride, and pride in her Afro-Latino roots. But pride might not be enough to save her rapidly gentrifying neighborhood from becoming unrecognizable. When the wealthy Darcy family moves in across the street, Zuri wants nothing to do with their two teenage sons, even as her older sister, Janae, starts to fall for the charming Ainsley. She especially can’t stand the judgmental and arrogant Darius. Yet as Zuri and Darius are forced to find common ground, their initial dislike shifts into an unexpected understanding.

I am a self confessed Janeite, I love reading fan fiction, any re-telling, continuation stories. I like that we came into modern times and a new setting with diversity, but I really needed more character development and passion. I got the pride, I wanted a little more maturity.

You know her voice. Now hear her story.
Audible has teamed up with Rolling Stone to produce an uncompromisingly honest Audible Original that honors the life and legacy of the incomparable Aretha Franklin. Aretha’s universal appeal was evident from the release of her first album at age 14 through her nearly 50 Top 40 hits. Yet this intimate biography reminds us that Aretha knew pain as much as she knew glory. It was the blues, residing deep within her soul, that gave way to a voice able to lift millions with a profound sense of freedom, self-worth, and undeniable talent to rise above sorrow.

incomplete story
Revisado: 07-14-19
I can't say I was a fan of Aretha Franklin before and was really looking forward to learning more about her life and music. I was disappointed that the story was so incomplete. The author spent a lot of time writing, she didn't talk about this or that. No one knows this or that. I don't want fabrication but I did want the author to dig deep and get into her life and music. I'm not sure I learned anything I couldn't have learned off her Wikipedia page.

Historia
Maeve Binchy imagined a street in Dublin with many characters coming and going, and every once in a while she would write about one of these people. She would then put it in a drawer; “for the future,” she would say. The future is now. Across town from St. Jarlath’s Crescent, featured in Minding Frankie, is Chestnut Street, where neighbors come and go. Behind their closed doors we encounter very different people with different life circumstances, occupations, and sensibilities.

It's a novella, no time for development
Revisado: 09-08-18
It is what it is. It is hard to get into rich story telling in a short novella, I didn't have time to get committed to the story, it was fine but nothing to stand in line for.
