I got this book because of the narrator. Now the author has me hook, line, and sinker. Great story. Great twists. Lucy is a great character. I hope the author keeps writing adult books. This is a gem.

1. the Basil Schramm character does not have an accent. Nothing in the story ever indicated it. it irritated the he'll out of me. 2. Alleyn's voice was higher than the women's voices. it gave him a bit of a shrill tone. other than that Jane Asher did a great job. I'm a huge Ngaio Marsh fan and I'm picky.

I love Alice Coldbreath. I couldn't stand hearing her books read by Anne Flosnik. Flosnik is familiar to me from other books and I baulked at hearing her read the Vawdry men. But Carmen Rose read this book PERFECTLY. I IMMEDIATELY bought the next one-substitute wife- and am so grateful for Carmen Rose's narration of a book I adore!!!

So first trigger: lying to a woman who'd been through what Mel went through. Second trigger: 16 year old and 29 year old. Third trigger: sleeping with s woman while still lying.
nope. done. voice of Cash was too wimpy. I like my stories character driven. Mel was the only character I liked. really too bad. I liked the premise of triumph and forgiveness. just don't think the characters (other than Mel) pulled it off.
