Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Biased Review About Favorite Author
Revisado: 05-29-24
Another great one from Emily Henry to add to my collection. Her books are what Rom-Com movies were before 2020!
They are feel-good, but possible real life scenarios. They could be your sister's, or neighbor's love story. I love the range of emotions that they entice.
Julia Whelan is my favorite female audio narrator. Her male character voices are comforting, unique to each character, and not jarring in the story. I seek titles that she voices because of her cadence, tone, and inflection.
The combo of the two means a guaranteed winner.

Tyler’s last year of residency is all work and no play, just the way he likes it. His life would be smooth sailing into his medical career if he could improve his bedside manner. He agrees to a blind date but only to practice communication skills. Then, he’s speechless when he sees who is across the table.

Inconsistent southern drawl muddies the character flow.
Revisado: 02-16-24
For me, Sissy's southern drawl in the female voice but not the male voice was too much.
I like the series. I like the character backstories, and connections. The southern drawl just made me wonder why she sounds that way but her mother, Dalton, and none of her lifelong childhood friends have a southern drawl. It was extremely distracting.

Definitely NOT a Christian book
Revisado: 07-19-23
This book is miscategorized; it is not a Christian book. Mentions God but focuses on teen & pre-marital sex, meditation over prayer, and teens questioning faith with no return to it.
It's still a good book but should not be in the Christian category for those looking specifically to listen to/read a book that focuses building faith.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

It was very juvenile, and predictable. Listening to the narrator’s character voices was grating. Disappointing.

Historia
Misogyny is a hot topic, yet it's often misunderstood. What is misogyny, exactly? Who deserves to be called a misogynist? How does misogyny contrast with sexism, and why is it prone to persist - or increase - even when sexist gender roles are waning? This book is an exploration of misogyny in public life and politics by the moral philosopher Kate Manne. It argues that misogyny should not be understood primarily in terms of the hatred or hostility some men feel toward all or most women. Rather, it's primarily about controlling, policing, punishing, and exiling the "bad" women.

Disjointed, and rambling information
Revisado: 09-05-19
The narrator did a fantastic job in trying to make the book interesting. Her intonation, and grammatical styling is what got me a third of the way through.
The ideas aren’t delivered in clear or direct manner. It’s grandiose writing.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

The idea is profound
Revisado: 07-03-17
This conjecture is awesome! Do not expect it to be a map to not giving a fuck. It's an idea to develop, and fit to your life. It's a "design your life" concept. Do your thing without expectations. Expectations destroy happiness. I loved it. I'll listen to it again many times. It's enjoyable, and valid.
