Historia
Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful - and cruel - father. Now Scarlett's father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the faraway once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over. But this year Scarlett's long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval's mastermind organizer, Legend.

Another excellent installment of The Witcher series. The stories grow ever more complex and the characters ever more intriguing and unique. This is one of those series that you could purchase all of the books ahead of time time and know that you will enjoy them. I love the story, the characters, and the narrator. Highly recommend.

I keep being more and more impressed with everything about this series. The characters, the plot, the writing. It's all just excellent. I love the complexity, the interweaving story lines, the world building. As a writer, I'm jealous of the skill and talent Sapkowski so keenly wields. And the narrator brings it all up to an incredible, epic experience.

Revisado: 08-27-22
This series is unlike any I've ever read. The author has such a unique voice and vision. I have been listening to the audiobooks and the narrator is outstanding, I recommend the audio version wholeheartedly. Every character is developed, even if they are not in the story for long. I love how the books are broken into various smaller stories but how they all tie into a larger, arcing plot. It's so well done, I find myself more and more impressed.

These books are so packed full of lessons that I will think about forever. I've learned so much about life and about the person I want to be from reading these books. I wish everybody would read them. But not everyone wants to make their life better, so I will recommend them to people who do.

A really fun read. I found this series after watching the show. I was a little worried I would be confused, because, while the show is excellent and intriguing, I found myself a little lost. I'm so glad to say that the book is much more clear and I enjoyed it even more. The narrator was so great, I think he deserves one of those stars.
I've already started on the second book and I'm looking forward to more in the series.

If there was a 6th star, I'd give it
Revisado: 07-23-22
This book is so full of gold, it's heavy. You cannot read this book and not be changed. It is so rich, and so full of significance, I had to take my time to read it. I listened to the audio and I had to keep rewinding and going back to listen again. I'd often have to pause to let some gem sink in. And there were so many that it took me a really long time to finish this book. As much as I rewound and replayed, I probably read it 5 times. Every one was worth it.
I can't recommend the audio version enough. Peterson reads with so much emotion, you feel every word. Although I do want the printed version now too, so I can highlight and study.
I felt myself growing and improving as I read this, but not in the typical self-help book way. It's like you learn about yourself and then you learn the why of it, and the change happens naturally as you go through life. You recognize something about yourself and then you change a little at a time, but the changes are exponential too. One small change leads to others and to others, and I think that even if you don't put forth much effort, just reading this book changes you naturally.
I'm thinking about starting it again right now. And I wish everyone on the planet would read and apply it to their lives. The world would change. I only feel that way about one other book--the Bible. And I'm not saying that it is divine in nature, I'm just saying it's important.

Revisado: 06-08-22
It is books like these that have ruined me for lesser quality stories. I fear that if I never settled for books that weren't written at this quality, I'd read far fewer books.
This is another wonderful story from intelligent author filled with with intriguing characters and an interesting storyline. It is set in a unique world and is as exciting as it is meaningful.
Definitely one of my favorite authors.

On to the next, yes please, and more
Revisado: 05-20-22
I loved the first book in this series enough to read it twice. But I loved the 2nd one even more. The first one was the honey-moon phase of a beautiful love story, but in Eidolon, we see that love challenged and deepened when that challenge was met.
It also just has a terrific plot. The characters are so good and the story line is amazing.
It's books like these that make me put down others. I know that sounds harsh, but stories like this one, written so beautifully, really raise the bar for me. I won't waste my time on anything anymore that doesn't stop my heart like this one. But I will read every single thing an author like this puts out. Yes I will.

Fantastic, I want more!
Revisado: 05-03-22
An excellent sequel to Roar, and I am so sad the 3rd one isn't out yet. I listened to the audio of this one and I was really dreading the end because I wanted more.
It's very cool how the author inserts small bits of information as quotes from different texts in the history of the world to give us information instead of just info-dumping.
I also like how she gave us tiny pieces of the storm lord's story starting in Roar.
This has become one of my favorite series, I'm just so impressed. These are the kinds of books that make me a little book-snobby. I find myself putting many books down because I want more like this. I just wish I could find more that are this well-done.
