Since the beginning of recorded history, humans have longed to find the answers to these most fundamental questions. One Truth, One Law has the answers channeled directly from God/universal mind. Everything in our universe is defined by one truth. One truth is the difference between understanding everything or knowing nothing. It’s the difference between being whole or feeling lost. If you have the courage to set aside what you think you know, this book has the answers you’ve never quite been able to grasp.

If you are a seeker this is worth your attention. Oneness and inner insights make much more sense the the archaic rules and regulations I grew up with.

Historia
Many people are fed up with the way traditional religion alienates them. Too easily it perpetuates conflict, vilifies science, and undermines reason. Nancy Abrams - a philosopher of science, lawyer, and lifelong atheist - is among these people, but she has also found freedom in imagining a higher power. Here, Abrams explores a radically new way of thinking about God. She shows why an omniscient, omnipotent God that created the universe and plans what happens is incompatible with science - but that this doesn’t preclude a God that can comfort and empower us.

A Local God?
Revisado: 01-30-23
The author deserves much credit for challenging most everything “church” has stubbornly and consistently tried to intimidate us with.
Crucial here and now questions are emphasized and we are more than encouraged to be the difference. Big questions linger but I’m better off for this very thoughtful and researched offering.
Thank you Nancy Ellen Abrams.

If you’re seeking entertainment this is not your best stop, But if you’re ready to rethink “religion”this might be your last stop.
New to this teaching but the profound relief is the emphasis of “understanding” rather the “belief”. Blind faith and beliefs have caused such pain. Finally an enlightened path.

Historia
Pete Townshend is one of the great figures in rock ‘n’ roll history. For almost 60 years, The Who have balanced the physical and the spiritual with introspective lyrics and inspirational music. But there is a part of Townshend’s story—and The Who’s—that has not been examined. These are his Words + Music. In the Audible Original Pete Townshend: Somebody Saved Me, the songwriter takes us through the period between the 1978 death of Who drummer Keith Moon and the 2002 loss of bassist John Entwistle.

Revisado: 07-15-22
Yes, I did hear The Who at Woodstock and they were iconic. Last heard them in Fenway Park with a full orchestra: An epic masterpiece.
To hear Peter Townshend tell this story, first hand and in all sincerity was profound. There was only one Who and one Pete Townshend. So very grateful he opened his heart and shared his story.

Historia
Kate Fagan and her father forged their relationship on the basketball court, bonded by sweaty high fives and a dedication to the New York Knicks. But as Kate got older, her love of the sport and her closeness with her father grew complicated. The formerly inseparable pair drifted apart. The lessons that her father instilled in her about the game, and all her memories of sharing the court with him over the years, were a distant memory. When Chris Fagan was diagnosed with ALS, Kate decided that something had to change.

I’ve spent many years coaching and pretty consumed by basketball. Kate Fagan and her Dad were familiar local names. I likely would not have chose this book otherwise.
What a hugely missed opportunity that would have been. Kate Fagan has written a deeply heartfelt family tribute and is an enormous talent. I have daughters. This book is profoundly moving, regardless of your family makeup. Thank you Kate Fagan.

Historia
When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction, and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book. But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third.

Controlling The Beast Within
Revisado: 11-17-21
So much of our angst and suffering comes at the hands of our insatiable ego. As The Buddhists rightfully believe it exerts near constant blinding attachments. This book is an eye, or more correctly a mind opener on mental liberation of which psychedelics may be the vehicle but not the real revelation.

Historia
Selective use of scripture - by preachers and politicians alike - has been employed to justify violence, racism, misogyny, homophobia...the list goes on. Still, we believe the Bible has something important to say. How can we read it in a contemplative and intelligent way? In What Do We Do with the Bible?, Richard Rohr answers just this question. He offers a methodology of hermeneutics (interpretation) that creates a foundation for a hopeful and cosmic vision - incarnation from beginning to end of time. (He explores this vision further in The Universal Christ).

Simply bewildering the prominence the Bible holds. A book that includes Old Testament writings full of violence followed by a New Testament loaded with contradictions and the most unlikely Jesus quotes.
Rohr provides real context and brilliantly brings logic and true spirituality to the question of What Do We Do with The Bible. Absolutely worth your time.
