Historia
Sea Isle, Scotland, is magical during the holiday season, and Dr. Emilia McRoy can’t wait to enjoy everything her village has to offer. But when the lead singer of a famous band is murdered in the village, just as they were about to launch a world tour, her holiday instantly comes to a halt. As the band’s future hangs in the balance, Emilia discovers that the victim was working on new music that has since disappeared. Were these new lyrics worth killing for? And if so, who is the culprit? It seems more than one person wanted this music star dead.

Intriguing installment to Murder Mystery Series
Revisado: 04-10-25
This 3rd installment to the Sea Isle Murder Mysteries was another excellent story, great plot, well developed storyline and characters, and great suspense. I love the interaction between the main characters. I can't wait for the next one!

Excellent murder mystery in series
Revisado: 07-10-24
This installment in the Atlanta Murder Mystery Club series could easily wrap up the series with answering a lot of the questions from previous books. It was the best performed off the series by George Newbern and quite enjoyable. Definitely a must read for anyone who loves this series!

Excellent Vietnam War Story of Women Nurses
Revisado: 06-14-24
The Women is such a beautiful story and tribute to all of the women who served in Vietnam, especially as nurses. It tells through mainly the voice of nurse Frankie McGrath, who joins the army as a nurse thinking she will be with her brother, then after he gets killed in action, she has to go anyway and has to grow up fast. Frankie's experiences let us as readers really see what it was like for women who served and it's so enlightening. I loved this book and learning this part of history. A must read.

Historia
Chance Meridian, finally able to take a long-delayed honeymoon after getting his murder squad up and running, has more interest in the beach than a new case. But the Governor has other plans. Thrust into an investigation far from home, Chance soon learns that the dead man had more enemies than is good for one’s health—most of them living under the victim’s own roof. Faced with a desperate murderer willing to kill again, Chance must untangle a web of deceit before one final act of violence changes his life forever.

Jekyll Island Murder Mystery
Revisado: 04-24-24
I really liked this installment of the Chance Meridian series. The setting was really descriptive on Jekyll Island, Georgia. The cast of suspects was plentiful and made it fun to try to figure out. It could have gone several different ways who committed the murder.
This is a great series!

Quirky local murder mystery
Revisado: 04-17-24
I really love the characters from the first book who were even better developed in this book. The new characters could have been developed a little better.
The story line was good and using all of the local landmarks again made the story even more fun. There was some good suspense about what the motivation was for the girls being taken and that was a good element.

Brilliant Suspense/Thriller
Revisado: 05-14-23
Sophie owns what we Americans would call a real estate agency handed down from her father. Things are going fairly well in her life with her focusing on her business when she starts getting strange cards. Then she finds out her childhood friend Garreth dies and the notes and other "pranks" start escalating, bringing back an event from when she was 15.
The author does an excellent job of building up the suspense of bringing the past to the present and unburying a secret that changed the course of all of the lives of Sophie and her childhood friends. Very well written and read. A great find.

Historia
Two years ago, Dr. Gina Brady broke Thomas Prescott’s heart, but now her panic-stricken satellite phone call starts it beating again with a fury. Thugs kidnapped the good doctor from the remote jungle village where she was working, and now the retired homicide detective’s expert skills are desperately needed to save her. Led by a colorful, but perhaps untrustworthy local guide, Prescott journeys deep into the Bolivian Amazon, plunging into a world where the only thing more dangerous than the gun-toting drug traffickers and the ruthless tribesmen, is the jungle itself.

Mystery Thriller in Series
Revisado: 02-06-23
Jungle Up by Nick Pirog is a terrific addition to his Thomas Prescott mystery/thriller series. Thomas goes to the Amazon to try to rescue his potential true love. He encounters many other interesting characters along the way. As always, Pirog lets us draw our own conclusions about who is truly good and who is truly bad or who falls in the middle.
There is also a common element about who is the greatest threat in the story. The plot does not disappoint in its complexity and humor.

Murder Thrillers with Humor
Revisado: 02-01-23
Who would have thought that four suspense/thrillers could be written with so much humor and wit intertwined? After binge listening to Nick Pirog's first four books in his Thomas Prescott series, I am a complete fan. I looked forward to every time I could listen for a stretch to Thomas' clever persistence, his sometimes goofy idiosyncrasies, and his tenacity for seeking the truth.
Thomas is surrounded in each novel with a host of interesting characters. some of whom are with him for each story, especially his younger sister, Lacy. The writing is also exceptional. It just flows really well.
I highly recommend these books to anyone who loves a good murder mystery/ thriller and sometimes a good laugh.

I enjoyed this book in the Joe Gunther series. Modern technology is finally catching up with the Vermont gang. I liked the setting for this one being the ski resort and mountains. We get more and more of the characters' personalities.

Historia
Joe Gunther, a Brattleboro, Vermont cop, is the head of the new Vermont Bureau of Investigation (VBI). In The Marble Mask, the VBI's first case takes the force north to Stowe, where a 50-year-old corpse has turned up in a crevasse on Mt. Mansfield. When the frozen stiff turns out to have been a big-time Canadian crime boss named Jean Deschamps who disappeared after World War II, Joe and his gang cross the border to work with the Mounties, the Surete, and the local cops in Sherbrooke.

Good mystery
Revisado: 12-28-22
This Joe Gunther story dragged a little. I liked the interaction between Canadian and Vermont law enforcement, but I thought the story was underdeveloped, but the characters were good. The mistakes that Joe keeps making are a little tired.
