Historia
In The Relentless Courage of a Scared Child, Tana Amen shares her incredible story of transformation - of growing up in poverty, a bullied latch-key kid raised on sugary cereal and junk food, to becoming a world-renowned food and fitness expert. Her challenging past of neglect, poverty, sexual abuse, thyroid cancer, and bouts of anxiety and depression set her on a path to find healing. Through her remarkable journey, we see more clearly the light that can shine through our own broken places and ultimately heal us: body, mind, and soul.

I am so glad I got to listen. I love her voice. I know I can go back to this read if I need reminders of growth.

I loved the comics as a teen and hearing it come to life really brings out nostalgic imagining of voices and charisma. I am in love with the audible. Thank you so much for bringing the stories to life. I look forward the part 2.

Historia
When this best-selling autobiography was originally released, everyone was shocked: The Long Hard Road Out of Hell was the darkest, funniest, most controversial and best-selling rock book of its time - and it became the template, both visually and narratively, for almost every rock book since. Marilyn Manson is not just a music icon, it turned out, but one of the best storytellers of his generation.

Revisado: 03-19-21
Let's start with...I am a fan of Manson...although
after accusations of sexual misconduct etc.
I had my doubts and knew there has to be more to his story..to the accusations.
I was right. I didn't know of this book because my fandom is mostly musical. I like his music and not necessarily the frontman. After listening to this book, everything started to make more sense. I don't doubt the victims or survivors of his abuse. I feel like if anyone wants to know him...he spills his guts in this autobiography. I enjoyed the honesty and have empathy. I felt myself analyzing him every 10 mins...I would pause and say "woah...that's why this happened" or " that's why that happened" or "that's why he does that" It's a great psychology read as well. I have more respect for him. I just don't approve his behavior with the women he hurt. It is possible to do both. great read

Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

One of a Kind
Revisado: 08-04-20
I love this as an audio book. Ronan does a great job reading or should I say acting out the book? Impersonations..accents.. a little something to make it fun to listen to and the music in the background during intense moments. I love it. With fun set aside....this book is some serious tea. The information Ronan shares and the extra info on how tv networks, producers, lawyers and etc work and all the work it takes to get a story out that is newsworthy and daring...let alone risky and sad. Weinstein is a monster for what he's done, this book downright explains how and why. I highly suggest this audible even if you don't care for celebrity drama.

I am so happy I found this book. I appreciate books that share a person who personally is dealing with BPD...and this didn't disappoint. I could relate to this a lot and helped me what to work on and I took notes to do my own research on the various therapy types. I laughed at some parts and even yelled "No why would you do that?!" lol I was pulled in. anyone with BPD ..this is a must read.

Like...oh Wow
Revisado: 06-13-19
I first watched the series on Netflix not exactly knowing it was based from a book. But READing the book is FAR better and I found myself disappointed in the series as it left out LOTS of important details from the book.
I probably had to re-listen to some chapters because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Like a double take glance, I had a double take listen. It gives some idea of Hollywood and the shady ways of how criminal acts are handled within the elite community. It also talks about some shady lawyers and how they handle their business, personal or professional. I like how each chapter speaks about particular people in the case and is quite thorough in presenting them. Someone always has their back when money and fame are involved. I would listen to it again and I had to follow up with Marcia Clark's and Darden's books after this. I plan to read the defense attorneys afterward. RIP Nicole and Ron.

I truly enjoyed this book. it was raw honest and true to Chris Darden. I think I I appreciated this book more because it was Chris Darden voice and it was very authentic very as if you were in the court with him and knowing the background emotions that we're going on at the same time.

Historia
From the outside, the prosecution's case looked bulletproof, but Marcia Clark knew better. Mountains of physical evidence connected O. J. Simpson to the murders of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, but that didn't mean it would be easy. For the woman charged with prosecuting the "Trial of the Century", the light of fame would glow white hot, as the media scrutinized her strategy, her family, even her hair. As the case spun out of control, Marcia Clark stood tall.
