Historia
Bill Bryson has been an enormously popular author both for his travel books and for his books on the English language. Now, this beloved comic genius turns his attention to science. Although he doesn't know anything about the subject (at first), he is eager to learn, and takes information that he gets from the world's leading experts and explains it to us in a way that makes it exciting and relevant.

Not typical Bryson
Revisado: 01-02-16
Bryson has always been a favorite for family road trip books. This was different. Bryson obviously went above and beyond with his research. Unfortunately, talking about Protozoa for 30 minutes is not a good way to stay awake in the car. In fact, even if I wasn't driving, I would have a hard time keeping awake listening to this book. It might be a better one to read- a few paragraphs at a time.

Historia
Yes, it's true: Pulitzer Prize-winning author Dave Barry's columns get out of the paper and sent around more than those of any other columnist in America. Join Dave as he runs for president, plays Claptonesque guitar in the world's most literary band (The Rock-Bottom Remainders), and gets the real scoop on all those UFO sightings. Warning: Dave Barry has a knack for giving his readers a few laughs and lots of expensive merchandise (ordered from the Home Shopping Club). No, we're not making this up!

Perfect family road trip book
Revisado: 01-02-16
Enough humor to keep you awake, no language or topics that were too uncomfortable (actually there was one we skipped over). Info that kept us talking during stops. Bits and pieces that make you feel a little smarter for reading. Can't ask for more than that!

Historia
Since Dave Barry writes about weird things, you might be tempted to think he has a weird brain. He does, of course, but that's not the whole explanation: A lot of the things he writes about—exploding Pop-Tarts, for example—are real. Join Dave as he examines UFO thrill-seekers and Elvis-worshippers, runs for president, and plays Claptonesque guitar in the world's most literary band that includes Stephen King (The Rock-Bottom Remainders).
