Thought Prevoking and forward thinking
Revisado: 07-30-12
What made the experience of listening to Present Future the most enjoyable?
I would consider this a christian leadership book but not your average christian leadership read. Reggie has a way of getting you to think beyond your own paradigm of ministry. He challenges the "the club" mentality of many churches and the stance of clergy who put up with that mentality and keep doing ministry but feel stuck in their job.
He spends a good portion of the book talking about ministry as it will happen in the future. His section on personal life coaching and seeing each person as an individual that has certain gifts and spheres of influences in which they can be on mission, was really good "out of the typical church paradigm" thinking.
If you are a traditional minister who likes what your doing in ministry and believes ministry can only be done one way this book could really rub you in the wrong way. For those that are looking for forward thinking and what will the church need to do to be relevant to this next generation you need to sink your teeth into this book.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Probably another christian leadership book. Not sure yet.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably the section on missional stategies and thinking.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
So you think you now how to have church, think again.

Historia
Not everything believed as biblical truth is truly biblical. The authors debunk 12 commonly accepted beliefs that cause bondage rather than liberty. They explain how nuggets of truth become cornerstones for error when wrongly understood, and they help build solid scriptural foundations that produce emotional freedom.

Christian Myth Busters
Revisado: 05-29-12
Would you listen to 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy again? Why?
If you find yourself uneasy with some of the ways the Christian church practices the beliefs of the Bible this book would be good for you. The content of this book really makes you think about some of the beliefs you have grown up believing in the church and whether or not they are built on biblical truth. It causes you to question why you believed that way and gives you some biblical insight at how to break this "Crazy Maker."
What was one of the most memorable moments of 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy?
I love the chapter on "the shoulds." So much good stuff in that chapter.
What does Jonathan Petersen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Actually...I was a little dissappointed that John or Henry was not reading the book but Peterson did a nice job with the reading.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Still trying to digest all the truth of this book. Great listen!! Highly recomend it
