Nothing really happens whatsoever. It’s just everyday nonsense per se
Revisado: 07-24-24
I just finished this third book. It’s a whole lot of nothing. The first book is the best. A lot of what happens feels like the author was like we need some conflict here, or there, but it doesn’t totally fit to the scene, the timing, etc. it felt like a lot of this and the second book is afterthoughts. Nothing is fully explained. It’s largely Lexi eating and having some adult time with her mates. More drama happened on Ada’s side that went nowhere too. The popular girl in school had to come in as an antagonist, but there was no real lead up at all as to why she finally decides to take vengeance on Lexi after a while has passed. It’s not boring, but I listened and maybe if I read I’d have been bored.
I do understand the concept for a writer to create a book and try to be consistent. I’m a panser writer. It largely means I don’t write down plots or outlines much. I maybe subs out my main characters & their descriptions and maybe a little personality. But largely the characters speak in my mind, or show me what to write. Heck, there have been times I’ve come up with a character on the spot because the book needed it and it took on a life of its own when ai’d intended for the character to largely be insignificant.
Regardless, listen or read if you want, but there’s not much of any substance to this book and most of second book other than the end. I don’t hate these books, Just expected a little more t’s crossed and i’s dotted so to speak.

Meh
Revisado: 06-25-24
There is way too much of the female pov. You barely get any of the mates povs. It kind of drags and it gets a little boring. I don’t care how many times the fmc says she was homeless it didn’t make me pity her or feel for her. There is no real emotional connection to any of the characters. Even the mates were kind of drab and dull. The author tried to make the wolf mate seem interesting because he’s all broody and antagonistic towards his mate, but it got old fast. Fmc spends first part of book pining for wolf mate’s attention. To be spurned time and time again even if she was just in his presence.
It’s not horrible. It has a decent storyline. I think that’s what made me finish listening. In my opinion I stories more with a balance of characters voices. I get tired of just seeing or hearing the female perspective. I’m female. I kinda know how some of our inner thought processes work. But hearing a male perspective more than bare minimum can make a story for me even if mundane, etc. I gave this a shot because of the dual narrative especially with a male narrator. And I like dragons. I’ve written 3 1/2 books in a series on my perspective of dragon shifters. 2 are complete. 1 is almost finished. 1 is a wip. Still, this has potential. It just falls a little flat imo.

One heroic act damned me for eternity. With a name like Tor, I should have been a hero, just like my father and twin. Turns out I’m not. Not even close. Instead I’m the very thing we hunted. A depraved monster. I thought there was no escaping the curse. No hope for a future. And then I met my mate in the unlikeliest of places: Blackwood Asylum. A place for criminals. Power-hungry madmen. Supernatural outcasts. And her, the curvaceous writer who sees ghosts.

I was looking forward to this and it’s kinda meh
Revisado: 01-15-24
I have the audio for war and pestilence. (So far the pestilence series has been my favorite but that may be due to the cast. I really love Teddy Hamilton & Jacob Morgan. So far they’re not in this series). Spoilers in case you don’t want to know.
The vocal performances were on point for the most part. My only real complaint is all the main male leads sounded too similar. Like each actor played them & voiced them as growly brooding characters. It was somewhat hard to distinguish which character was talking at times due to them voicing them too similarly. I think this story had real potential, but honestly it’s a confusing mess which the irony is the story takes place in a former asylum. So far the only character I kinda like is Kiki and how she’s overly excited about discussing the guys. There’s a play on Beauty and the Beast in this which isn’t really an original take. It almost feels as if the authors watched Beastly recently with Vanessa Hudgeons and Alex Petyfor. Because they discuss a tattoo on Tor with withering roses. And no surprise he refers to Dalia the main lead as Beauty. (Honestly, Dalia just makes me think of Black Dalia reference though she is blonde not dark haired.)
I was looking forward to Hook because he was mentioned in pestilence series and wanted to see where his story led. He’s about one of the only characters that didn’t give me a headache. You kinda got straight up clarity per sé with his character even if there’s a lot of twists to his part of being Hook. I think I have what’s going to happen in the end mostly predicted due to the previous series. I’m flexible on a couple things, but so far it’s almost like a copy of a combo of the first two series with different character names and situations. There’s warnings especially of child issues (can’t remember the exact warning and don’t want to repeat a warning not actually given). To be honest it’s only implied there’s no real description. You kind of get the gist without much being said. In case you won’t listen due to that warning. Now can’t say they won’t go into detail in the next books at some point.
There not much spice it’s at maybe a 1 1/2 🌶️ level compared to the other series so far. The main spice is only 1 time and at the end before FMC “loses her V card” though imo she supposedly uses toys so I think it was more of a technicality. This angle to me is annoying especially due to the fact that she writes spicy books and knows what she wants though she’s “never done it”. I’m sorry but that makes no sense that she’s virginal but super kinky without prior experience. Yes, I’m all for the aspect something peaked her kinky interest, but she speaks in a mind set as if she’s experienced it. Now do you see why I say confusing. So if you can’t guess I’m not a fan of Dalia at all.
The male characters as stated are largely forgettable. I honestly had to sit here and think for several minutes on the fourth male’s name because I already forgot it. I only remembered because in my first digital book I wrote a character with a similar name though probably not spelt the same way. I digress. Hook and Tor are a part of this both mentioned in the previous series. I think they tried to focus mainly more so on this being Tor and Dalia’s story, but I’m just not liking it. Tor tries to come off as a tough berserker but at the same time kinda has a whiny underlying tone that gets old fast. I liked Alec his twin and the voice actor I think Aaron Shedlocke voiced Alec. Wished he’d done Tor as they are twins. I didn’t hate the Tor performance, but again it’s not as distinguishable from the other performances. So far Hook is my favorite of the guys I guess. Kai or Malachai his only interest is his dog familiar he names *$$h*le. He has no memory apparently of who he is but has dreams, but I guess doesn’t remember his dreams that reveal who he is, etc. Cane is a dragon that honestly his character is the name I forgot and for further irony on my part not only have I used the name spelled differently, but another of my series is about dragons and so far not overly impressed with this incarnation of a take on dragons.
J.F. Harding does voice a character with his recognizable voice but it is a sub character and though he may be voicing another with a different voicing I really like his recognizable voice. Had he voiced one of the male leads with his recognizable voice it would’ve broken up the monotony of them all sounding similar. I will also add this book imo lags a little and is a little boring. Will I read the rest of the books to come? Most likely because I’m curious as to how all these mate game books will turn out even though like I said there’s a lot of copycat of the first 2 series which I feel will make this series a bit boring but I hope for the best.
Listen to this just don’t expect much because though they’ve established the world thoroughly now the authors are not creating a more action packed kind of story which there was the potential for it from the jump and now it feels like a wade through some sludge of dragging and boredom for the tone they’ve set so far for this part of the series.

A bit confusing for me but not overly bad.
Revisado: 12-12-23
I got this because it was on sale of buy one get one free. I’ve read other books of hers not any tied to these stories. I’ve read most of her dragon series and her demon series. So, I thought I’d try this. For me it felt like too many of the stories ended abruptly without enough of an ending per sé. I’m mad about the Grim story it shouldn’t have been included at all. I get now that it’s a leading into a further story, but that just completely cut off which upset me some. The Grim story I wanted to hear about was Henry and Clara not a new Grim. I’ll have to read this series now. I had found her dragon stories by some being put on the library’s digital library. This series is not available on there, but I’ll check kindle.
So, I’m not saying this is bad, but it is very confusing for someone who hasn’t read any other book in this series. The narrators were excellent and confusion or not made the stories enjoyable especially Aiden’s deep tone. Wished in the other stories he had more parts to voice. Female narrator was good except when trying to imitate a guy’s voice. However, her energy matched Aiden’s enough to make it enjoyable. Maybe once I read the books I’ll come back and give another review or update once I understand more if I remember to do so.
Listen at your own risk if you don’t know this series. They’re definitely not standalone short stories.

Furious! Molly & Jaclyn you should be ashamed for STEALING,
Revisado: 10-03-23
I’m so furious that you are not crediting voEros as he should be bc why greed? Something else? What’s worse is I can’t return this to get my money back. It’s bad writing and the only good thing & why I bought the books was because of voEros. I honestly mock Jaclyn especially in Melt for us largely due to Molly’s subpar writing and how Jaclyn performed a certain section of that book.
If I was a vindictive person I’d wish something like 🧨 toilet time, but I’m not vindictive. You’re evil Molly and Jaclyn though and I hope karma locks it’s sights in on both of you for doing voEros dirty like that. You’re stealing plain and simple. Give voEros his credit that he deserves. Just because you can’t handle that your books sucks and his performance is the only reason people bought your books to begin with.
Heck, if I put out crap (which I have 13 books I’ve written between Wattpad and Dreame 11 finished and 2 still writing) I would kiss voEros for making my book any of them successful.

It was not that great in my opinion
Revisado: 09-30-23
The performance was excellent. However, this took me over a year and a half to finish it. Sadly, I found it largely boring. I’m not a big person for age gap, but I liked Priest and thought this would be good too. For me that’s a lean more towards No on it being good. I did get emotional during the hospital reason at the end. I have had a family member have the situation happen to. (Trying not to spoil)
Sean was a good character, but I just couldn’t stand Zenny. The performance for Zenny was great, but her character in general just grated on my nerves and some of the way she reacted towards real life truths made me frustrated. Her character seemed uppity, snobbish while attempting to be written as if she cares and is humble. She’s quick to blame Sean constantly for ‘making things about him’ but the truth is selfishly it’s always about her and that got annoying.
The spice was fine. This book was just boring. It dragged and I had to force myself to finish listening to it. The age gap was a nuisance and hindrance that just made the HEA so weak. I could’ve dealt with an age gap per sé, but not theirs it was too much and it showed. They had nothing in common really then great spicy time. That’s not something to fall in love with and certainly won’t create a lasting love.
Would I recommend this? I think my review is clear. I would not for all the reasons stated above. I will not be wasting credits to finish this series either. I should’ve looked at the bad reviews if any before purchasing, but that was something I learned after the fact and once I bought this. Generic good reviews are probably just planted. See who wrote the 1 star reviews, 2 star first. Those ppl most likely are real and not paid for their review. Just saying.

You won’t regret this simply bc of audio cast. They are superb!!
Revisado: 05-31-23
I normally don’t give high ratings, but this review is based on all of these 4 books in this pestilence series. I think book 1 and 2 are my favorite and it started to fall off in my interest in book 3 where I couldn’t binge the whole thing I actually took 2 nights to listen. Sadly this fourth book has taken several nights to finish not because I couldn’t, but to be honest I started to fall asleep largely through it. I also didn’t have the drive to want to know what happened. It kind of felt like the books could’ve been 3 not four.
I enjoy smut, but book 3 and especially book 4 it felt like a lot of spicy scenes were all that was happening no real feel like moving the story forward. I cracked up at drunk Rosie in book 1 it is what made me want to continue the series. Is it sad I laughed more at what Sirri called Remy throughout the books? I honestly was confused at the last battle on keeping tabs on what was happening it felt like a jumble of confusion and then it was over and sadly I predicted roughly what would happen.
Am I saying don’t listen because listening to the audio is far better. No, please listen. I don’t regret listening because this cast is amazing. I honestly chose to listen initially due to Teddy Hamilton because I listened to him in “One Moment Please” and Jacob Morgan in “Priest” and “Sinner”. Now however I have many more favorite voice actors & actress.
I’m disappointed to wait until January to continue these stories. Now that this series is done I will go back and finally listen to war’s series. I don’t care if the stories are dragged on, etc these performances make it worth it. I do enjoy the basis of the stories too, but what hits it out of the park is the actors and actress. So, listen because of them alone. You won’t regret it and like I said drunk Rosie will get you hooked initially.

Worth the listen for the cast alone!
Revisado: 01-26-23
I came upon this In suggestion on main page. I read reviews, but what attracted me was the praise of the cast. I hadn’t listened to more than two cast members before this. They were phenomenal❣️❣️❣️ I never wanted the story to end, yet I wanted to get to the ending. I was captivated. You should heed CW & TW. I thought it was mild for my taste on the warnings once listened, but you may not want to hear or read some of the things that happen.
The story is good. I plan to listen now to this whole series especially if it’s the same cast. I laughed largely in the beginning when Rosie got into the alcohol. I liked the fulfilling spice early and yet there was a slow burn to this story as well that plays out. In my opinion the spice could’ve been more and more detail. It felt tamed a bit.
I don’t like how the story abruptly ends. It’s more than a cliffhanger in a sense. The story finally starts taking real interest and done. All I could think of was the Sopranos ending though I never watched the show, but how everybody was mad on an abrupt ending. I get it there is a second book, but this book felt a little unfinished even if it ended with a cliffhanger.
There was but wasn’t enough backstory for the characters and maybe we’ll get more in the next book. The looming villain felt too far in the background. Sadly, a part of me thinks I figured out who the villain is even with little to go on. I hope I’m wrong per sé.
The story claimed MFC was hiding to protect her family, but I never felt the urgency of danger ever. There was a lot of talk about submission by MFC, that it got a little bit boring. I got immediately she liked to be submissive didn’t need the reminder constantly.
Like stated above this had potential to be far spicer and I feel like we got a Dark Disney line of spice which wasn’t enough again in my opinion. Bring on the spice please 🙏🏻.
Overall it is worth it again because of the cast. I’m not disappointed with spending a credit to get this chance I took. I’m pleasantly surprised and glad I found something new that is good. I suggest listening to this amazing cast rather than reading you won’t regret it. *I would have liked end credits to say which cast voiced which main character. I knew Asher was Teddy, but only figured out 2 of the other characters. I can guess, but I just would’ve liked to know.
Listen you won’t be upset you did.

Good Quick Spicy listen
Revisado: 01-23-23
I liked Scream For Us. This was good. I liked learning a little more about the guys. I really wish any further books had more of their povs at the lead instead of Quinn. I like Quinn, but the one thing I am so over is every time in both books she says “I’m already there” I just find it annoying. She did feel semi like a different character this book not from growth per sé. It just seemed as if the situation that caused the end result with the blue mask was inserted to create a plot. Why didn’t she say something long before Christmas?
Other than that if you like a lot of spice it is all here. That is pretty much all you get and I’m not mad. Like I said other than that line and the “plot” it is a great listen.

This is my favorite so far out of the series (Haven’t read 4th book yet)
Revisado: 12-15-22
I initially read this book over a year ago. Then I bought this audiobook. This is one of my go to listen to over and over again books. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite voice actors. This performance is where I really fell in like with his vocal performances. I think I like this book the most because of how it is like two kids on a playground and the boy is pulling the girls braids or pigtails but they are denying their attraction somewhat. Him more than her. I like that Lindsey challenges Josh more than submits. Hey when you have pregnancy brain giving in is a lot easier. Which sometimes happens with Lindsey, but she always remembers when that fog clears of what and where she stands. All around good read and good listen.
