Cute short shifter story

great voice actor for both male and female parts. It was a nice shorter story that I was happy to find on audible plus. It can be read out of order but if you following the series in order it will make more sense. Recommend if you looking for a low drama/angst with some spice and decent plot.

Sweet light read if a bit predictable

This is a set of feel good stories that a great for the holidays. I love Jana Aston’s writing and while this wasn’t as good as some of the other books she writes, it’s a sweet and fast series to get you in the holiday spirit. The first two were my faves, the last one had a little too much angst (in my opinion) for a short story. But still worth the download. The narrators were pretty good too, I’d save average. I would recommend this to anyone who likes sweet Christmas stories with a little spice.

I had passed on this book several times because I wasn’t so sure about the idea of a student and teacher relationship- but the story turned out so good! I had already read the first and last story in this series and this one just adds to all that. Highly recommend for both plot and spice!

One of my top 3 Jana Aston books!

This was so funny and sweet. If you need a totally unrealistic story and a really good laugh, this is perfect. I needed some lighthearted romance after some of the mafia romances I’ve been reading lately and this fit perfectly- with very little drama or angst but a great story and some spice. Erin Mallon is an amazing narrator for both the male and female voices- I could listen to her narrate anything. But having a great narrator can make or break a story and this story is just that much better because of her. Great writing by Jana! Can’t wait to read/listen to the rest of her books on my list

Great story- a little confusing with narration flashbacks

Overall the story was great. It’s an excellent follow up to the prior story in the series and I recommend reading or listening to that one first- even though it can technically be a standalone.
However, listening to the story got really confusing when they had flashbacks. I recommend you get the kindle book to read along with it so you know what’s going on. In most books there’s like a time stamp (ie. 2 months earlier….) before a flashback but in the book it just switches to italics to indicate a flashback. Obviously this was really confusing when listening because there’s no difference in voice between the time change.

But I still highly recommend the book. Narrators were great and overall story was amazing

Sweet story- not a lot of angst!

This one was great after listening to so many story’s with a lot of angst. This story has a great plot, great narrators (though for the female narrator I speed it up to 1.10 because she talks really slow). Loved the story overall and how everything tied together in the end. Thanks!

Great story! Narrators talk too slow

This book was amazing. I did switch it between the kindle book and audible. I found the narration a little too slow for my liking- I sped it up to 1.05 and sometimes 1.10 to help it along. But the book itself was great. I got a little frustrated with the main character for awhile there, but the ending was worth it.

Drawn out love story

I love Mary Balogh books, they are sweet romances with more mild love scenes. Like her other books, this one reads like real life- a “will she/won’t he” situation for that time period. I would get frustrated with the heroine at times but after taking in consideration of her age, and their time together/lack of time together, the emotions she displayed were very apt.

I will say that 90 percent of the book is that romantic angst and it’s only the last 20 mins or so (audiobook) that has the conclusion I was waiting for. Which left me feeling a little unsatisfied, I like to know “what happens after” and more of the joy after all the angst in the story. Not sure if I will continue with this series or more onto another one of her books at this point.

Great omega MC story- good plot and spice!

I resisted getting this book for awhile because I wasn’t sure if it was my cup of tea- now I’m so glad listened to it!
The narrators were great, and their voices fit the characters well. I took off one star because the story did drag on at times, and it was hard to sort out the alphas sometimes because they were referred to by both their MC name and their given name. That got frustrating for awhile while listening because I was trying to figure who was who.

There were a few parts that dragged on but I didn’t skip forward until closer to the end when some drama unfolded. And that’s just because I’m not a a fan of listening to what was happening. Triggers warnings for abduction, trafficking, and sexual abuse. Gun violence and blood as well. But none of that happens between the omega and her alphas. Great HEA and I love the relationships between the omega and her alphas and how they got to know one another. I also love that there was no breakups.
