AI Deployment Made Practical
Revisado: 12-01-24
This book is a great practical resource for anyone interested in implementing AI solutions.
I appreciate the book’s focus on the business acumen required for deploying AI. Sol’s insights on starting small and scaling quickly resonate with my own experiences in a startup environment. In the manufacturing industry, where leveraging bare minimum tech to stay relevant is often key to survival, the practical examples of applying AI to improve production planning and optimize supply chain operations with real-time data and AI-driven processes are particularly valuable.
A couple of years ago, during a holiday visit to Prague, I bought Melanie Mitchell’s AI: A Guide for Thinking Humans. It served as an introduction to the philosophy of AI. In contrast, Your AI Survival Guide is a practical handbook for applying these concepts in the business world.
I also loved the reference to the “rogue executive,” a term I’ve heard often. It perfectly encapsulates the bold and strategic mindset needed to overcome challenges like data quality issues and organizational resistance—both of which I’ve encountered in my own projects.
The line, “The tech is the easiest part of the lifecycle,” is so true! The real challenge lies in building the right strategies, fostering buy-in, and navigating the cultural and operational complexities of AI deployment. A solid foundation that prioritizes security, data integrity, privacy, and robust governance is essential from the start. Businesses must clearly define their goals and align their IT solutions accordingly. Rushing into new technologies without a well-defined strategy risks misalignment and inefficiency.
This book is a must-have for leaders who want to drive meaningful change with AI.
