Historia
Convicted serial killer Carrie Grethen has escaped from a psychiatric hospital with plans for revenge. Wary and shaken, Scarpetta also has to investigate the death by fire of an unknown woman. The post mortem reveals that the woman was stabbed before the fire was started, and soon Scarpetta and her colleagues are called out to the scene of another fire and another murder.

Narrator changes from Critt
Revisado: 09-29-23
I can’t go on with this series cause the narrator changes from Critt who’s calm and collected. The new narrator has a different tone and inflection that I just can’t get over. It’s the equivalent to changing the actor in the middle of a movie hoping no one notices. With listening to audio books we do notice all we have to go off of is the narrators voice to set the tone for our visualizations/ imagination of the stories that are read to us. For me it’s not the same and the role of Scarpetta has been swapped out for a more anxious newcomer. Wah!

Historia
A lost civilisation. A curse reborn. Dr Ben Kazin has only a blurred photograph and a gut instinct that there is a lost city to uncover somewhere beneath the Botswana cliffs. Soon, a whispered curse and a chance encounter with a local tribe lead him to discover much more than city foundations. The curse, it seems, is real, and will link Ben, his oldest friend and the woman they both love with a forgotten leader from 2,000 years ago, in a city of glory and honour that subsequently disappeared without a trace.

Not a great audible listen
Revisado: 12-30-21
Not sure what happened. I was all involved with the story and then it switched to some far forgotten story in the middle. I was lost the whole last part of the listen. Love Wilber Smith’s books and listening to them. This one for me was not a good one to listen to. I was completely lost in part 2.
