Historia
Three months into her pregnancy with her first child, Hilary Yancey received a phone call that changed everything. As she learned the diagnosis - cleft lip and palate, a missing right eye, possible breathing complications - Hilary began to pray in earnest. Even in the midst of these findings, she prayed that God would heal her son. God could do a miracle unlike anything she had seen. Only when Hilary held her baby, Jack, in her arms for the first time did she realize God had given her something drastically different than what she had demanded.

Beautiful Story
Revisado: 08-01-18
I loved this book! Hilary’s story is raw, honest and real. I especially enjoyed listening to it in the author’s own voice. Thank you Hilary for sharing so vulnerably with us!

Historia
In Out of Sorts, Sarah Bessey, award-winning blogger and author of Jesus Feminist, helps us grapple with core Christian issues using a mixture of beautiful storytelling and biblical teaching. As she candidly shares her wrestlings with core issues - such as who Jesus is, what place the church has in our lives, how to disagree yet remain within a community, and how to love the Bible for what it is rather than what we want it to be - she teaches us how to walk courageously through our own tough questions.

I loved this book!
Revisado: 03-14-18
Sarah Bessey could be telling my story. It was so refreshing to hear her perspective of sorting through the evangelical past of her life and not rejecting it all but putting the pieces back together in a way that honors her tradition but also embraces the real message of Jesus. I loved it. It challenges me to not reject all of my evangelical heritage, but to find ways to weave my heritage into the knowledge I have now.

Loved this book!

This book was perfect timing for me. I had to order the hard copy so I can read and highlight it. Hearing the words in the author's own voice made it all that much better.
For anyone who feels like they could burn out (I did), this book is for you!

Historia
Falling Free chronicles the Martin family's pilgrimage from the faulty, me-centric wisdom of this world to the topsy-turvy life of God's more being found in the less, challenging listeners to rethink their own assumptions about faith and the good life. Anyone who yearns for something beyond status quo, middle-class Christianity but hesitates out of insecurity or safety concerns will find encouragement, food for thought, and practical guidance in this sweetly subversive book.

Editing needs improvement
Revisado: 10-28-16
I enjoyed the story, and for the most part as engaged. However, the audible editing needs work. There were gigantic pauses between chapters but next to. I pause between sections. Section titles seemed read as part of run-in sentences. It doesn't give the listener time to transition. Otherwise a good read.

Historia
In his new audiobook, The Heart-Led Leader, Spaulding turns his focus to ourselves - to who we are. Authentic leaders, Spaulding says, live and lead from the heart. The values and principles that guide our lives and shape our ability to lead others is far more important than our titles or our ability to crunch numbers or the impressive degrees we display on our walls. To effect true transformational change, heart-led leaders draw on the qualities of humility, vulnerability, transparency, empathy, and love.

A must-read for any leader
Revisado: 04-27-16
Tommy Spaulding is inspiring as he weaves the power of story into practical leadership principles. He doesn't just make a case for being a heart-led leader, he proves that you can lead with love and still stay the course with accountability and tough decisions. I will be recommending this book to my friends and colleagues.
