Historia
I was the Rift Magus—master of space and time, protector of worlds. For decades, I defended my realm with unmatched power. But when an unspeakable creature threatened everything I held dear, I was forced to create a rift to nowhere—a trap designed to seal it away for all time. It worked, but the creature was not without power itself.

Great, but short
Revisado: 04-23-25
Enjoyable story and pacing, but felt like it ended too quickly. Would be nicer if the book was longer for what it costs.

Great performance for a poor story
Revisado: 03-17-25
Performance was excellent and was the only thing that carried me through the majority of this book, which I didn't finish. The only interesting part of the story was the mysterious class of the protagonist, which I'm not curious enough about to continue listening.
The entire plot for the story was so obviously and predictably done to set up a harem for the protagonist in the fastest way possible. There was no creativity, depth to characters, or believable social interactions. It felt like the entire point of the book was to set up detailed explicit scenes without any regard to the quality of the rest of the story. Maybe it was exactly that, and I just went into this with the wrong expectations. Not for me.

Good, if not a somewhat predictable story.
Revisado: 02-24-25
Enjoyable story and worth a credit. Was somewhat predictable. Will get the next book.
Decent performance, but not the best. Characters all had varied and unique voices, which was great, but the protagonist and his counterpart sounded too old for their actual age. In addition, the interpretation of the writing left something to be desired. There were many situations where the voices didn't seem like they matched the way the characters should have sounded.

Rushed and abrupt end to a good story
Revisado: 02-09-25
Great continuation to the story. Definitely worth it if you enjoyed the other books. However, it has a very rushed and abrupt end that wasn't very satisfying. I get the impression that the author was ready to be done with the book. The number of chapters that began with XX Years later was kind of silly by the end.

Okay book with uninspired performance
Revisado: 12-23-24
The book was okay. There was a lot of repeated information from the previous books which I felt was unnecessary. I much prefer a short recap at the front, rather than it being sprinkled in throughout the book, especially right after finishing the previous books.
I didn't enjoy the chapters from other character's perspectives. I don't mind short side note from another perspective, but these felt long winded and didn't add much to the story that couldn't have been told and summarized from Adelheid's perspective.
Different narrators in the middle of a series are always difficult to get used to, but this narration just sounded awful. Completely uninspired and bland with little inflection and not much variety in character voices, despite there being two narrators. The accents were horrible and many words sounded mispronounced.
The faster spell casting chants were nice, if only it weren't so monotone. I thought the sound effects in the previous books were unnecessary, so I'm glad they got rid of them. In the end, I ended up speeding the book up to 1.2-1.5 narration speed to get through it.

Great story. Performance still lacking.
Revisado: 12-12-24
An excellent continuation to the story. However, I'm still not completely happy with the narration. Thankfully the character voices sounded more varied than in the first book, but the narration was too slow paced and required me to speed it up for the entire book.

Great story
Revisado: 12-10-24
Great story. Performance could use some work. It wasn't bad, but the character voices, especially for the male characters, were lacking in diversity.
Smart and driven protagonist with an interesting plot and a fair amount of mystery. Some things are a bit obvious as to where they're going, but it's not too bad.

Historia
The one thing you never talk about while you’re in the Scholomance is what you’ll do when you get out. Not even the richest enclaver would tempt fate that way. But it’s all we dream about: the hideously slim chance we’ll survive to make it out the gates and improbably find ourselves with a life ahead of us, a life outside the Scholomance halls. And now the impossible dream has come true. I’m out, we’re all out. We saved everyone. So much for my great-grandmother’s prophecy of doom and destruction. Ha, only joking! Actually, it’s gone all wrong.

A terrible relationship
Revisado: 11-13-24
The first two books were great, but I disliked the attitude of El towards Orion during the third book. I don't understand why she is so obsessed by this love between them since it didn't feel like the relationship developed much in the first two books. Their passion just came out of nowhere and their relationship is terrible.
The narrator is decent, but still not much variety between character voices.

Fun, but tedious story
Revisado: 10-19-24
Fun story, but constantly listening to the same event told over and over from different character's perspectives gets pretty tedious and repetitive. Also feels like there is too much unnecessary swearing.
