good content- bad narration
Revisado: 08-23-19
I like the content of this book, it has some good and useful words that you might not come across in other audiobooks teaching German. But as some other reviewers also pointed out the person who speaks German in the audio is very low-energy and sometimes you'd think she's depressed and about to burst into tears.
The audio book kind of puts a damper on your mood. I wish they redo the book with a more enthusiastic narrator

Any additional comments?
First I thought this book was commissioned by the Royal Family of England, then I thought it was commissioned by the Israel government.
In terms of suspense and thriller , it was way below what I expected . I am not familiar with this author's other works , but I bought it because I thought it was a thriller. It did not thrill me much.

Historia
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

Historia
After five hectic years of retirement from Lord's Chapel, Father Tim Kavanagh returns with his wife, Cynthia, from a so-called pleasure trip to the land of his Irish ancestors. While glad to be at home in Mitford, something is definitely missing: a pulpit. But when he's offered one, he decides he doesn't want it. Maybe he's lost his passion. His adopted son, Dooley, wrestles with his own passion - for the beautiful and gifted Lace Turner, and his vision to become a successful country vet.

horrible narration/performance
Revisado: 09-26-13
Would you listen to The Witness again? Why?
No.I totally dislike the voice that tells the story, it's so slow . Seems the focus is on enunciation of words rather than giving a soul to the material read. very flat.
Would you be willing to try another book from Nora Roberts? Why or why not?
maybe, with a different performer/narrator
How could the performance have been better?
the performer has to learn how to perform with emotion and carry the correct pace of the text.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no
Any additional comments?
Can I get my credit back?

Historia
Is there a science to love? In this groundbreaking audiobook, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Amir Levine and psychologist Rachel S. F. Heller reveal how an understanding of attachment theory - the most advanced relationship science in existence today - can help us find and sustain love. Attachment theory forms the basis for many best-selling books on the parent/child relationship, but there has yet to be an accessible guide to what this fascinating science has to tell us about adult romantic relationships - until now.

This is the BEST relationship book
Revisado: 01-29-13
Any additional comments?
I loved this book. It tells you how it is, does not try to teach you how to play a game or become someone else for the sake of love. A very different book on understanding the undercurrents of a relationship. Anybody I recommended this book to, thanked me afterwards , and in turn recommended to other friends. thumbs up!
