Funny how being famous means you can publish anything.
Revisado: 02-26-24
I love Dean Koontz. Hands-down he is my favorite author. This book has interesting characters and typical Koontz humor... but it was a bit all over the place. I liked it. I just think if an unknown submitted this for publication, it would have gotten passed over. If you love Koontz, this is worth the read, but if you are just discovering him... skip this one for some of his other work and come back when you are a true fan so you can appreciate the nuances of this one!

Engaging Mechinations
Revisado: 01-06-24
Initially, a struggle probably would have been less so if I had a Kindle or paper copy. The style was just hard to grasp/follow without my full attention, but not so much so that I was lost. The storyline and characters are interesting, however the details are often usurped for speed, flow and continuity. I enjoyed the tale and will read the sequels, I just think the world<s> have so much more flesh than this diet version, but probably makes it appeal to a wider audience.

Hugo was a dog. He died. Now he's a kitten. As Hugo adjusts to his new body (not just a cat - a baby cat!), his new home (San Francisco), his new outside (Where are the mountains? Where is the lake?), and his sudden urge to sit in every box he sees, he wonders if he'll ever see Cassie or Jerry again.

Good job on something a little different. I was not surprised by the ending, but definitely a fun, easy listen.

No-nonsense executive Naomi Reyes can't believe she let her boss manipulate her into babysitting Donovan Taylor, the most insufferable creative director of all time. Worse, she'll be trapped on a private island with him, while a bevy of gorgeous models vie for a coveted chance to grace the cover of M-Class Magazine's inaugural Swimsuit Edition - and, if the office rumors are true, an equally coveted place in Donovan's bed.

Story was fun; good banter; good readers, and then right before it ends... bam with a few too many descriptors for my taste. Maybe I should have looked for a content rating... otherwise a fun easy little read.

sparks has become captain obvious
Revisado: 01-23-21
I guess the love story is supposed to be the focus, but from the moment Sarah's family was described I knew. then he states the obvious when the narrator reveals his involvement... seriously underestimating the average reader. I have truly enjoyed the few other sparks books I have read. I fell asleep listening to this one <after the ghost story> and when I woke up I just listened to the last chapter to ensure I wasn't wrong about the couple. my apologies to fans and author... I wasn't wrong.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

could have done without the language and graphic sex, but the story was excellent. Well written to make you think you knew "who done it" and then it ended! A truly great read in the tradition of christy or hitchcock. voices were good... mostly...

It’s hell on her social life. Abe is the doctor and Sam's partner in crime. He isn’t much of a criminal. Except for the kidney stealing. But he’s using that money to fund his research that he anticipates will be able to cure diabetes. So, all for a good cause...? You decide. Of course, it's hell on his social life.

what do you expect for $8
Revisado: 03-19-20
I guess I expected more... but really it was an easy listen... very "noir-esq" I suppose. I would have liked fewer timeline jumps and a bit more depth of character and plot with the tongue in cheek dialogue.

Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

perspective
Revisado: 12-24-19
I like best the perspective that there is nothing new under the sun and that if we are to move forward as a nation/society/world we must quit insisting everyone believe the same and work toward a resolution that satisfies the needs of the people of our time. this is my own take away from this humor laden text not a point explicitly made by the author.

Historia
Casey Cox’s DNA is all over the crime scene. There’s no use talking to police; they’ve failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she’s arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn’t matter anymore. But what is the truth? That’s the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren’t adding up.

Unfortunately missing a Little Depth
Revisado: 09-22-19
Good story good characters I'm not sure the near writer and the character voices matched the voice is a little warm fuzzy for the actual story. I had to speed it up to 1.25 to feel like I could listen to it in an appropriate tempo. I do plan on reading the others in the series and as always carry Blackstock can tell a good story I think this one just felt a little short.
