Historia
Bitcoin did not appear out of nowhere. For decades prior to Satoshi Nakamoto’s invention, a diverse group of computer scientists, privacy activists, and heterodox economists tried to create a digital form of money that could operate independently of government control. The Genesis Book tells the story of the people and projects that inspired the invention of the world’s first successful peer-to-peer electronic cash system.

Historia
Eileen Sharp and Vic Hightower were frustrated. After years of profitable, predictable growth, Swan Services was in a rut. Meetings were called and discussions held, but few decisions were made and even less got done. People were pointing fingers and assigning blame, but nothing happened to solve Swan’s mounting problems. It felt as though they were working harder than ever but with less impact. The company Eileen and Vic had founded and built for 10 years was a different place. It just wasn’t fun anymore.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Inspiring
Revisado: 09-28-23
I’d never even heard of the 1936 US eight man rowing team before this book was recommended to me. Now they are some of my favorite models of manhood. It never ceases to amaze me what great work ethic, simple, clean lives, and selfless devotion to team and family can produce.

Possibly my favorite Ryan Holiday book
Revisado: 06-09-23
An excellent introduction to silence as a practice. Ryan teaches through examples from the lives of some of the most well known people in our human history. He has been very thoughtful in his preparation and presentation of silence and stillness in this book. He’s given me so many good things to make time to quietly ponder on.

Steve is the man…
Revisado: 02-02-23
If you haven’t read The War of Art, read it before this book. This book is a deeper dive into one of the aspects of that book. This book is a continuation of Steve’s primary message-do your work! Quit giving in to resistance, quit lying to yourself, quit making excuses, quit keeping yourself busy with miscellaneous work and do the work that matters most. Show up every day, same time, same place and do the most important work, the real work.
The aspect explored in this book is where do you need to be to do your most important work. Steve comes at it from many different angles such as showing up to work, having the right workspace, living in the best place to do your work and so on.
If you loved The War of Art you’ll appreciate this book too. It’s a good mix of reinforcing the main message of The War of Art and going a little deeper on where you need to be to do your most important work.
