This is definitely my preferred listen of this work. Nathan's voice adds layers & depth to the piece that draws the listener into the world he has created. The story is a colorful mix of strength, mysticism, & true kinship.

N. Lowell as good a narrator as writer

I love this book & have enjoyed it many times. My only reservation is the narrator. Being absolutely entranced with the author original narration, I found the current narrator unable to grasp the nuances of the characters.

male writer's inept attempt@ a strong female lead

The work itself is predictable and run of the mill. The difficultly with plausibility lies with the writer's main character. The female lead was unbelievable with unrealistic thoughts & actions, incredulously niave for a seasoned police office, and conveniently strong.
The saving grace for this piece was the narration. Excellent & spot on.

Good Listen

Enjoyed this one from the free monthly titles & I am very glad I did. Story is well done, a bit predictable, but very entertaining. Character development & depth progresses at a good pace & intriguing manner. Loved the individual characterization and overall thread of the work. Thank you.

Prefer Author Narration

After hearing the original podcast read by the author, it is a bit disheartening the trend did not continue. Lowell brought a depth to Ishmael Wang that is sorely lacking without his narration. As for the series itself, great character and plot development, good reference to prior material, and reintroduction to several subplots & characters round out a great addition to original series.

Narrator Makes the Book!

What a great third installment. I certainly hope this isn't the last we hear of Bob. Well written, great character and plot development & relatable characters. Just an all around great listen, did I mention the narration? Out of this world!

Slow to start, but once it began, picks up steam. Had to listen to it at 125% narrator a bit slow for me. Nice prose and imagery.

Different Narration dampened the Greatness

The male lead who does Caz Breckers voice is great with others but lousy at Caz. And giving Nina a sometimes English accent was.....annoying.
Really liked the story-lots of action, intrigue, twists & 'humanness'.
