Loved this story! The narration was excellent! I’m so glad the author spent the money on duet narration as it paid off. All the narrators did an amazing job. I really enjoyed the story and it will be one I listen to again. I’m really glad the FMC was a strong character who had a backbone. I liked all the characters. I would definitely recommend this book!

This was a tough read. On page SA and human trafficking is not something I’d like to read again. It got better around chapter 19/20 but was still hard as she’s dealing with her trauma. I really liked the first book the best. The ending to this one was very satisfying. And was an HEA. The spice as great after she healed some from her trauma. I loved both characters. Zade is one of my favourite MMC’s.

The narrators were amazing! They really made this book. They did an outstanding job at bringing the emotion to it. You can tell they put effort into acting this out, they didn’t just read the book. I would listen to them again and hope they narrate many more books! Well done!

This was entertaining. It was funny, spicy and adventurous. I really enjoyed it. The narrators definitely made the story! Without such great narration this wouldn’t have been as good. I loved how they both acted out the story, the inflections, sighs, etc were perfect! Well done!

Definitely mixed feelings about this one. I’m glad I listened to it and it wasn’t a waste of a credit.

Pros:
- I enjoyed the story, the suspense, the stalking, etc.
- the spicy scenes were excellent and often. 🔥 🔥 🔥
- the killers/stalkers were well written.
- there were some touching moments between the MMC’s and the FMC.
- the MMC’s had a good balance of being dominant, scary, possessive and thoughtful.

Cons:
- too many descriptive shower scenes that the FMC took. We get it, the author is big on hygiene and cleanliness but the scenes felt copy and pasted throughout the book.
- the FMC did t have a lot of common sense and went along with whatever the serial killers asked. It would have been nice for her to have more defiance and not go along with everything.
- the female narrator and partly the way it was written was very awkward and robotic. It was distracting.
- there were only a couple chapters from the MMC’s point of view. I would have liked more.
- it felt like the author was overdoing the criminal minds and CSI lingo.

I wish there had been a better editor to catch some of this, that there was a different female narrator and it was duet narration. Still I enjoyed it and have re-listened to certain parts as they were well done.

Spoiler Warning! ⚠️
This was my least favourite story of the first three.
Luca kidnaps Rosa. He’s a perfect gentleman while he has her. She goes through a drug and alcohol detox while with him in which her addiction was a result of her not dealing with past trauma. He helps her through it. They fall in love but in order to protect his family, Luca needs to marry someone else from a different crime family so he lets her go.
Then in order to protect her sister, Rosa has to marry a horrible man. During their engagements, Luca and Rosa have a secret affair. Eventually they manage to get their HEA. This just wasn’t the story for me. I’ll still look into finishing off the series with the fourth book.

Great story but the HEA was a few chapters too short.

This is a review of both books, Torian and Cole since they are a continuation of Cole and Anissa’s story.

Positives:
- the male narrator DC Cole was fantastic. I love his voice for Cole and even his female voice was pretty good. The female narrator was good. I would have loved it if they each read the male and female dialogue but I’m happy there was at least a male and female narrator.
- I really enjoyed the story, there was a lot of detail throughout and you really got a feeling for how horrible the antagonist was.
- I loved the dialogue between Cole and Anissa and Cole’s dominance. I couldn’t put the audiobook away as I wanted to know what would happen next.
- I loved the it when Cole comforted her after the dealings with his father, and when he surprised her on the trail in book 1. And when they finally confessed their love for each other.
- I appreciate that all the authors books are on audio right away and I prefer that option as I can get more books in when I listen during my commute and chores. The author also did the extra expense and had a male and female narrator.

Negatives:
- In the beginning of each book, the author wrote Anissa as obsessive, quick to anger and irrational. Very few authors can capture an accurate personality for a female law enforcement officer and unfortunately this author didn’t either. Being assertive, which is needed for an LEO, is not the same as losing your temper/ being bitchy. Anissa also wasn’t the brightest and common sense was non-existent at times. Such as getting on a plane with the head of an organized crime group that she suspects is kidnapping women for sex trafficking. Really? Who would do that??? There is a point where common sense should prevail over your ego!!
- The HEA was not long enough. The climax of the story was very detailed and satisfying but then the HEA was briefly summarized at the end and I was left needing more. It should have been a few chapters so we had more closure. Like how did Cole convince Anissa to stay at his place and move in with him? Did he just have her apartment packed up so she couldn’t drag it out? What is she doing for work now? How is she settling in? I wanted more interaction between Cole and Anissa now that they were together. Another spicy scene at his house would have been nice. Will she get closure with her father and see him again? After all this time the HEA is what we’re waiting for and I feel ripped off when authors cut it short. I need more!!

I will still be giving her other books a try. I enjoyed Remy but found the same issues with an obsessive and paranoid FMC and HEA cut short. I’m hoping the other books will be better.

I used to enjoy these books when I was younger but now it seems more like an entry level story to other authors I now read/listen to. It was very basic and PG13. Good for YA.

The author forgot the ending of the story in her writing. It just ended right after the climax and then was skimmed over in the epilogue. It really ruins a story when the author ends a book way too quickly. There was so much that was unresolved. I’d rather have too much than a brief summary.

I’m glad I read some of the authors more recent novels first so I know her writing improves a lot in future books. You can tell this is one of her first novels. Sinful Mates and Chosen by the Dragon Kings has a lot more detail and have better endings.

Spoiler Alert!
The HEA is not with all three MC, only two. It was heartbreaking. I’m left with a sense of loss. There wasn’t enough HEA story with the two MC at the end for me to come away feeling happy.

Warning: There are many flashback rape scenes and one horrible multiple men raping the MC in the present that the characters need to overcome. That part was too dark for me.

Aside from those two things, I enjoyed the story. The world building and character development was great. The narrators also did a great job! I liked the multiple points of view.

Unfortunately the narration is terrible. It’s too high pitched and whiny. It’s really hard to get through. Not a fan of the story.
