Historia
After living through a dumpster fire of a Valentine’s Day, Emilie Hornby escapes to her grandmother’s house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry’s. She passes out on the couch, but when she wakes up, she’s back home in her own bed—and it’s Valentine’s Day all over again. And the next day? Another horrendous V-Day. Emilie is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can’t wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheat on her day after day.

These are not 16 year olds
Revisado: 11-16-22
A very badly done novelization of the movie 'Groundhog Day' with '16 year olds' acting as the main protagonists.
In addition, the author puts in many of the 'no consequences' events of 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' (a very overrated movie with many cringe worthy characters) washing out the good plot points of 'Groundhog Day.'
I'm further disappointed in the unoriginality of the author who names a main character after Nick Stark of 'Iron Man' fame.
Overall a very disappointing audio book. There are much better 'time travel' audiobooks.

Historia
It’s the eve of 1953, and Aloysius Archer is in Los Angeles to ring in the New Year with an old friend, aspiring actress Liberty Callahan, when their evening is interrupted by an acquaintance of Callahan’s: Eleanor Lamb, a screenwriter in dire straits. After a series of increasingly chilling events—mysterious phone calls, the same blue car loitering outside her house, and a bloody knife left in her sink—Eleanor fears that her life is in danger, and she wants to hire Archer to look into the matter. Archer suspects that Eleanor knows more than she’s saying.

Need more Liberty
Revisado: 05-13-22
Was disappointed in the story line of this book. Liberty Callahan is one of the best characters that Mr. Baldacci wrote and she appears in much too little scenes.
In the end Mr. Badacci decided to have Archer continue as a long wolf when having Liberty as his side kick would have really enhanced the story line.
Instead we end up with a cliched novel no different than others written using a detective in post WW2 Los Angeles.
Really sad, this novel could have been so much more.

Historia
When he was 10 years old, Paul Fronczak was snooping around for Christmas presents in a crawl space in his family’s Chicago home. There, he found hundreds of old newspaper clippings about the kidnapping of a one-day-old infant in a hospital in 1964. He also learned that, two years later, the boy was found and returned to his family - and that the boy was him. Nearly 50 years later, Paul, acting on long-held suspicions, took a DNA test that proved he was not the kidnapped boy. In an instant, he found himself at the center of two half-century-old mysteries.

busy work of a fool
Revisado: 12-23-21
This book was very difficult to listen to. The author himself says "trying to change the past was the busy work of a fool." Yet despite saying that, he deliberately keeps poking in dark corners trying to solve puzzles about his origins. He was a foundling who ended up replacing a kidnapped child.
He finds he is the son of alcoholic parents who mistreated him and his twin sister (who is still unfound at the conclusion of this book) so much so that they abandoned him in front of a store in NJ and did 'god knows what' to their daughter.
His biological siblings decline to help. His biological brother in fact says he doesn't believe the DNA tests (yet another flat earth believer!). So there is no help getting answers there.
Another person 'the old man' gives answers to questions that seem like story lines out of an X Files episode invoking the Chicago mob's involvement in this sordid tale.
What a bunch of dreck. Sometimes its best to let sleeping dogs lie. His biological sister gave the best line of in both of these books when she tells the author that he got out of the bad life that his biological parents gave the other siblings.
The author should spend his time trying to find out where Jimmy Hoffa is buried than beating this dead horse anymore.

Historia
From the 1940s through the 1960s, young pregnant women entered the front door of a clinic in a small North Georgia town. Sometimes their babies exited out the back, sold to Northern couples who were desperate to hold a newborn in their arms. But these weren't adoptions - they were transactions. And one unethical doctor was exploiting other people's tragedies. Jane Blasio was one of those babies.

Cry me a river (as the song goes)
Revisado: 08-31-21
I just started listening to this book and couldn't get past the first 30 minutes.
The author is detailing her life as an adopted child. She is a white young woman who gets adopted by a white family shortly after her birth. The family treats her very well. The author is just mad at them and the world because she was adopted (something she finds out when children tease her in 3rd grade).
Cry me a river as the song goes. She has no clue what it is like to be adopted and raised in a family that doesn't treat you well. Or to be of a different race than your adopted family.
If you really want to learn about adoptees who had a tough time growing up listen to "Given Away: Korean Adoptees Tell Their Stories." This is available for free on Audible Plus. It is a difficult listen as the trauma these adoptees go through is heartbreaking; but, it is a far more realistic story than this garbage.

I found this book totally confusing. It seems to have been deliberately written this way.

I agree with another reviewer, this is soft porn disguised as a Bollywood romance.
Soneela Nankani is a global treasure. Her performance is excellent as usual but there is only so much she can do with a book this bad.

Really bad
Revisado: 07-15-21
I understand why this book is free on Audible.
There are so many plot holes in this book. Things happen with no real explanation.
Ray Porter’s narration which is usually excellent suffers with this novel as the plot is so disconnected.

Ray Porter is a national treasure
Revisado: 07-13-21
Ray Porter’s performance is excellent as usual. The story not so much.
This book is actually a re-edited, rerelease of a previous audible book.
The original, which I had the misfortune of purchasing several years ago was horrible. This is slightly better; but that is only relative to the original.
I don’t think I will spend time on the re-edited and re-recorded volume 2 or the upcoming volume 3.

Revisado: 07-12-21
I finished it and felt like I didn’t understand what the plot of the book.
Very odd ball characters with an even weirder, naive protagonist.
Didn’t really end up appealing to me and I will try to return the book.
