I don’t get why this book has so many great reviews? The narration was fabulous... but that was the only great thing about it. This went from something believable to a really terribly written Lifetime movie the closer they got to the end. It was awful. There were so many storylines and events that just made it so... unrelatable. And the ending? What in the world? Once the final sentence was read I just sat there thinking “this was it?”. Don’t waste a credit like I did.

Good Story - Horrible Narrator

There is a significant age difference between the characters and the narrator. I am really struggling to get into the story because she is so disconnected. I wish they had someone else reading it.

She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

Difficult to Get Into

This book was okay. I was hoping for more than it was, though. Honestly, I didn’t really get into it until the last hour or so. The plot spent way too much time focusing on minute details that it distracted from the overall story. Honestly, it made me frustrated and annoyed with the main character. Of course , it all came together in the end, but it just wasn’t well written.

I was really looking forward to this book and it did a fine job at building the plot... but slightly after the middle, it seemed to get lazy and just rush through a finale. If left me feeling... meh.
