Thank you, Sleep Wave!

I have struggled with insomnia pretty much my whole life and I can't fall asleep if there are any sort of sounds or lights present. Despite taking prescribed anxiety/sleeping meds, sleep was always something that eluded me. Even though the idea of sound was something that would usually cause me to stay awake, I decided to try something new and searched for sleep hypnotherapy. I did a few trial listens with some other options, but once I found Sleep Wave, I knew I had found the perfect solution for my sleeping issues. I started with the very first episode, intending to make my way through in order for no particular reason, and after my first listen, I slept so deeply for so long that my mom had to come check on me because by 4 pm, she was worried I was ded. This was about a month ago and I have been listening nearly every day since, and most of the time, I fall asleep so easily, I don't have a sense of how long it took me to fall asleep, which is something I am not used to experiencing at all. Most episodes focus on breathing and being self-aware of your body relaxing, which really helps to ease your mind. Both hosts have very pleasant and soothing voices, and I love that they always start episodes by maybe sharing a personal story and/or explaining how that night's meditation is important and ties into an experience or feeling that is widely relatable. I have come across just a couple of episodes that I found I just didn't connect with as much, either in the middle of it when I could tell I wasn't relaxing, or when I had listened to the whole thing and realized I didn't fall asleep. But of course, it's perfectly fine to end one and find another one that will work much better, I think it depends on what you connect with more. For example, I don't really like nature all that much, so the idea of grounding myself with the earth did not work for me, nor did focusing on every single part of my body since I lay in odd positions and can't/don't really want to move around at all once I am already comfortable. Not that there's anything wrong with those things or episodes, but it's all just a matter of personal preference and what works best for your brain and body. Not only are the hosts' voices nice, there is also soothing music and sounds playing softly in the background and go on for a while after they are done talking so you can effectively fall asleep. I think some sounds are like light rain and there are some wave sounds, so if you have drank a lot of liquids before going to bed or you usually wake up in the middle of the night for bathroom breaks, perhaps consider skipping out on episodes with those particular background sounds. Though, they are never disruptive or distracting for me, personally. Not to be dramatic, but Sleep Wave has changed my life for the better and I will probably be using it forever, I love it so much. I just start an episode and set my sleep timer on Audible for the amount of time the episode is and let myself get carried away by the waves. Thank you sooo much to Karissa (and Billy) and Jessica, and anyone else who helps to make Sleep Wave possible. You are all amazing and you are doing a wonderful thing that truly helps people. I am forever grateful!
