"I was angry beyond measure; angrier than I have ever been in my life," Paul declared. "But instead of asking the Lord to remove the scales from the eyes of those responsible, to show them the error of their ways, I begged Him to damn them all. I screamed at Him to burn them in hell. I cursed. I ranted and raved. I broke things. The greatest thing I broke was Jennie's heart; a heart that has scarcely had a chance to heal." A single hot tear broke from the corner of the preacher's right eye, challenging his ability to keep his composure. "I spent Friday night wandering in the wilderness, ...

I loved the pace- hard to put down and kept me wondering if the story actually happened
Revisado: 11-04-24
Very touching story filled with compassion written from a faith filled perspective whose main character was eager and able to answer God’s call. That call drew a lot of support but was not easy and there were several problems that were handled so graciously that they could be called teachable moments. More of a realistic and inspiring story as true to life struggles and joys land on a compelling young couple who must deal with a horrible tragedy. Many people bond together while supporting and connecting to others they would never have otherwise. I absolutely fell in love with many of the realistic characters including Buckethead - the stray dog who just wasn’t going to go away. This book kept my interest all the way through full of the best kind of romance, old fashioned values, helpful ways to best deal with life plus a bit of mystery through the end. The best bonus by far is how it will open our minds and hearts about a huge crisis that currently plagues the USA

I loved this book and learned much about the world of unique donor families. The sad parts were rectified by the good ending and how things usually work out.
Lisa Jewel and Helen Duff knocks this story out of the park!

FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke is closing in on a bust of a major criminal organization in San Francisco when he witnesses an undercover member of his team killed right in front of him on a busy street, an accident Roarke can't believe is coincidental. His suspicions put him on the trail of a mysterious young woman who appears to have been present at each scene of a years-long string of accidents and murders, and who may well be that most rare of killers: a female serial.

Never a doubt. Never a mistake. Always for justice. Never for revenge. She's the person you hire when you need something fixed-permanently. With a strict set of criteria, she evaluates every request and chooses only a few. No more than one job per country, per year. She will only step in if it's clear that justice will not be served any other way. Her jobs are completed with skill and precision, and never result in inquiry or police investigation. The Fixer is invisible - and quite deadly.
