Historia
Third-year Harvard student William Price takes an absence from his studies when an opportunity arises to accompany Charles Dickens on his American tour as his personal assistant. Leaving the love of his life, Rebecca, behind in Cambridge and traveling along the East Coast with Dickens and his lively crew, Price discovers the incomparable joys, follies, temptations, and opportunities of life on the road. As Price gets to know Dickens in a series of settings, from somber one-on-one chats to his flamboyant performances and raucous after-parties, they develop a complicated friendship.

A wonderful historical journey.

I enjoyed it immensely and i am very proud of the authors for their achievement. I love getting to know Dickens more intimately through the 1st person account. Though it's ostensibly one person's subjective account of getting to know the bigger-than-life author on a personal level, it makes you feel like you're right there with the both of them as Dicken's and his American assistant, William, become friends and even co-conspirators. Barbour's and Edson's writing makes them both so real. And Edson's vocalization gave me a sense of really hearing the narration truly from the writer's own mouth. Great job all around. Great listen!

An Inconvenient Truth is the prognosis. This book specifies the means of survival. Buckminster Fuller called it Spaceship Earth. This is the definitive maintenance manual.

Historia
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Historia
The author of 12 acclaimed books, Robert B. Reich is a Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and has served in three national administrations. While many blamed Wall Street for the financial meltdown, Aftershock points a finger at a national economy in which wealth is increasingly concentrated at the top - and where a grasping middle class simply does not have the resources to remain viable.

A concise view of how we got to where we are

Having finished "Grand Pursuit" immediately before, Reich's book seems a refreshingly frank and terse coda to Nasar's sweeping and somewhat meandering history of economics and politics. Reich's command of his own narration makes his treatise that much more compelling.
