Wonderful listen

I really enjoyed the Unbidden Truth, as well as the other Barbara Holloway mysteries. It is well written with believable, likeable characters and expertly narrated.

Historia
It's Monday morning when Meghan Fitzmaurice blows her perfect life to bits. The host of Rise and Shine, the country's highest-rated morning talk show, Meghan cuts to a commercial break, but not before she mutters two forbidden words into her open mike. It's the end of an era, not only for Meghan, a household face who is not equipped to deal with disgrace, but for her younger sister Bridget, a social worker in the Bronx who has always lived in Meghan's long shadow.

Historia
Jodi Picoult delivers the riveting tale of one small town's entanglement with high-school violence.
New York Superior Court Judge Alex Cormier is assigned to preside over the case of the alleged Sterling High School shooter. Lawyer Jordan McAffee represents Peter, the boy who, on the day of the shooting, was found in the corner of the gymnasium holding a gun to his head with a shaky hand. Detective Patrick DuCharme has one star witness, but her story keeps changing. And then there's the biggest problem of all: the star witness happens to be Judge Cormier's daughter.

Disappointed Picoult fan
Revisado: 08-09-07
Having read a half dozen of Jodi Picoult's books, I was really looking forward to her latest. Unfortunatley, I was really disappointed by 19 minutes. I didn't find either of the main characters (mother and daughter) likeable and found much of the book utterly predictable. And the "unpredictable" ending was just too contrived to be satisfying. The narrator didn't help matters, either. Listen to My Sisters Keeper and Plain Truth if you are looking for a good Picoult read.
