First and foremost the greatest part of this audio experience was the narrator. Juggling between the various voices of characters ranging from Chekhov to Dr. McCoy the narrator knocks it out of the park. It's as if you're watching the new film series.

Historia
The dark forces of the Neo Hegemony strike, sweeping across the worlds of the Arcadian sector and crushing all in their path. One system stands against the onslaught, the Kingdom of New Avalon. But the men and women of their expeditionary forces are trapped behind enemy lines on a besieged planet. Their only hope? A last-ditch rescue mission led by Captain Hal Cutter and his battleship, Achilles. Beset on all sides by lethal enemy warships, he must lead a rag-tag fleet of naval and civilian vessels across Hegemony held space to save the beleaguered Kingdom soldiers.

In the far future mankind is at war with one another. For this I found this book to be very engaging! It's a fairly grounded space war that is right up my alley. I intend to follow this series because its action packed and has memorable characters. Where I was swept away by the several characters during their individual battles the one weakness this story suffered was of one particular foot soldier whose arc didn't excite me like the other well written characters. Otherwise this is a wonderful book on the excitement and horrors of war and its brimming with action and standout characters! Great narration and well written characters brought this to life. This wars not over yet. Highly recommended!
