Not as good
Revisado: 02-16-19
I have enjoyed the series and the intelligent group of women working as private eyes to solve mysteries. But, the last two books have left me cold. I didn't enjoy the theme especially in this book.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Excellent story
Revisado: 02-10-19
Reading this book was my pleasure. I kept reading chapters over and over. Not because I didn't understand but because the writing and story telling was so good that I wanted to.
The way Mr. Dugoni handled the entire life of someone different was incredible. I worked with special needs children and I can tell you he gets them!

Historia
Leo’s boyhood hero, Henry “Heck” Sundstrom, was larger than life. Lately, however, Heck’s life has been spiraling out of control. First there was the honeymoon boating accident that killed Heck’s son and new daughter-in-law, Allison. And now the big man himself is dying — struck down by a delivery truck in a seedy section of Seattle. As he investigates, Leo begins to wonder if Allison went down with the ship. And whether, with the aid of his aging legmen, “the Boys”, he can prove the “late” Mrs. Heck is more alive — and lethal — than anyone ever suspected.

Unfulfilled
Revisado: 02-09-19
I chose this book because I enjoy a good series. However, I read the first book and thought it was a bit wordy but decided to hang in there to see if the writing improved. Unfortunately it hasn't. The plot was interesting and the characters fairly well defined. What bothers me is when Ford used 20 words to describe a tree right in the middle of the action. I found myself thinking get to the point.

Historia
Art curator Val Caruso is not a happy camper. His promotion has just been nixed, his divorce has become final, and he’s dug himself into a nice little rut for his fortieth birthday. The uplift? A trip to Milan to help Holocaust survivor Sol Bezzecca recover a pair of cherished sketches by Renoir. They’d once been given to Sol’s family by the artist, looted by the Italian Fascist militia, and now after decades in hiding have turned up for auction. It’s Val’s job to get them back. Unfortunately, his Italian adventure takes a dangerous turn when he becomes trapped in an intricate web.

Memories
Revisado: 02-07-19
A Long Time Coming is a terrific story about the art world. Not the sort of art a middle class patron could afford. The really wonderful art of the masters. You may be surprised at what goes on in the high dollar art world. Aaron Elkins does a fantastic job of weaving the tale of the bad actors in the art world with a lonely old man whose memories of his childhood and one painting are worth more than all the money in the world.

Few can rival attorney Andy Carpenter's affection for golden retrievers, especially his own beloved Tara. After he astonishes a New Jersey courtroom by successfully appealing another golden's death sentence, Andy discovers that this gentle dog is a key witness to a murder that took place five years before. Andy pushes the boundaries of the law even further as he struggles to free an innocent man by convincing an incredulous jury to take canine testimony seriously. It will take all the tricks Andy's fertile mind can conceive to get to the bottom of a remarkable chain of impersonations and murder, and to save a dog's life - and his own - in the process.
