Historia
On the surface, the mountain town of Engelstatt, Austria is picture-perfect. It offers guests stunning views, fresh air, and the chance to experience an Alpine village untouched by time. For university student Jacob Liro, a school shooting survivor and aspiring artist, it is the perfect place to spend spring break with his classmates and a chance to hit the reset button on his life. What Jacob and his class don't know is that beneath its fairy-tale facade, something sinister lies in wait in the salt mines below the town.

Whoa. I loved this!!

What a great story. Honestly I would recommend going into this without knowing anything about it. The author draws you in and develops the characters to where you feel for them and they seem like real people. Like you’re going on a trip with some friends. I really couldn’t stop reading this. I told my wife I had yard work to do and spent the entire evening trimming my trees and listening to this book. It’s so original and well paced. I’m trying not to tell anything at all about the story. Please don’t sleep on this one. If it’s in your TBR stack, move it to the top. If you’ve never heard of it, now you have. I can’t wait to see what else comes from this author. This needs to be a movie!!

Cliche but heartfelt

I don’t want to be too hard on this book because it was a decent read. It just felt rushed. I wanted to settle in with these characters but it felt more like an outline than a fully fleshed out story. It wasn’t great but it was good enough for me to see what else this author writes because writers typically get better over time.

Historia
Edmund has a secret. Besides working as a gardener at Harbo’s Garden Center, he has a separate existence on the dark web, where he is known as Raoul153. There, he flirts with the notion of eating people. This idea comes from his grandmother, who tells him stories about the history of his ancient ancestors, the Cannibal Gardeners of New Guinea.

Unflinching violence
Revisado: 05-03-23
This book definitely doesn’t shy away from describing every gory detail and that’s a good thing. A stranger of unknown origin travels from place to place horrifically murdering people. The book is too short for sure. I wanted more. On the plus side, you might as well try it cuz it won’t take you long to read but I really wish it had been fleshed out more. See what I did there?
