Incredible men brought to life
Revisado: 08-18-23
This book is amazing. It will bring to life the lives of great men of the past that public educators, either know nothing about or purposely tell you nothing about.

Historia
The legacy of General Nathan Bedford Forrest is deeply divisive. Best known for being accused of war crimes at the Battle of Fort Pillow and for his role as first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan - an organization he later denounced - Forrest has often been studied as a military figure, but never before studied as a fascinating individual who wrestled with the complex issues of his violent times. Bust Hell Wide Open is a comprehensive portrait of Nathan Bedford Forrest as a man: his achievements, failings, reflections, and regrets.

Historia
Originally published in six volumes, which sold more than one million copies, Carl Sandburg’s Abraham Lincoln was praised as the most noteworthy historical biography of Sandburg’s generation. He later distilled this monumental work into one volume that critics and readers alike consider his greatest work of nonfiction, as well as the most distinguished, authoritative biography of Lincoln ever published.
Growing up in an Illinois prairie town, Sandburg listened to stories of old-timers who had known Lincoln. By the time this single-volume edition was competed, he had spent a lifetime studying, researching, and writing about our 16th president.

Brought tears to my eyes
Revisado: 01-28-17
I had no idea how magnanimousand beneficent the personality of Abraham Lincoln was. Robert E. Lee said it was not so much for Grants guns as it was for Lincoln's famed mercy that brought him to capitulation. Incredible story.

Historia
Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.

Review from me Product of American public school systems
Revisado: 12-07-15
As a graduate of American public educational systems I never learn anything about Napoleon other than that we bought the Louisiana purchase from him. Fascinating book which I could not put down. Napoleon seems like, other than David in the Bible, one of the most tragic figures in all history.
