Well narrated. The story had a slight bit of deus ex machina in the middle but what great adventure story does not? I hope more stories are coming.

Historia
Against the backdrop of worldwide, unexplainable natural disasters, Dr. Virginia Marilyn Edwards (Emmy Award-winner Kerry Washington) seeks out Agent Scott Thomas (Emmy Award-winner Laurence Fishburne) at a secretive government headquarters. Virginia claims these events are signs, and unless Agent Thomas helps her, she believes things will only get worse. Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

Excellent and thoughtful
Revisado: 07-31-22
First, the story is well done, well acted, and very engrossing as I basically burned through it in two days.
Second, I am writing this review in response to a review I saw criticizing this well done episodic story as being “woke“. The story takes a strong stand against bigotry. I can only guess that the assertion being made was because offense was taken against the story’s strong stance against bigotry. It is not “woke” to believe in being kind to each other regardless of race, creed, or gender. This story takes a strong stand for upholding and fighting for the values of the golden rule.

King is back
Revisado: 07-13-22
When I was young I read every King book I could buy but after awhile it seemed to me that the writing lacked the punch and style that it used to have. I don’t know if I had changed, King had changed, or both. So I probably haven’t read a Stephen King book, except intermittently, for over 35 years. I picked up Billy Summers because it was recommended in the same vein as some of the detective books that I had been reading. Here I again discovered the old beauty of King’s writing. A superlative story of great heart and emotion. The kind that makes you think about your life and emotions while engaging with the characters challenges. It was, like life, just about perfect.

Historia
Every major decision governing our diverse, majority-female, and increasingly liberal country bears the stamp of the US Senate, yet the Senate allows an almost exclusively White, predominantly male, and radically conservative minority of the American electorate to impose its will on the rest of us. How did we get to this point? In Kill Switch, Adam Jentleson argues that shifting demographics alone cannot explain how Mitch McConnell harnessed the Senate and turned it into a powerful weapon of minority rule.

Absolutely fascinating and necessary
Revisado: 03-12-21
One of the most interesting books I have ever listened to. He provides for listener with the tools to understand the politics of the Senate and to be prepared to argue for the elimination of the filibuster, which is a poison upon our democracy.

That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.
