Very interesting book
Revisado: 08-15-24
I thought it was a very good book and discovered that it’s not a first in this literary universe. I look forward to reading the others!

Historia
Scouting crews arrive on newly discovered Dandros to find it ripe with life and fresh for colonization. There are no people and no vertebrate animals. But there is one castle, and one statue of a man known as the anomaly. Energy resonates from the head of this monument of times past where instruments and machinery probe the anomaly’s head and its empty keep, the only signs of civilization. It mourns for its love, speaks of its demise, and tells the humble beginnings of Dandros. It is kept under lock and key for the stories it tells.

Deserves A Second Listen
Revisado: 09-07-23
When I finished this title the first time I was going to give it three stars and move on. But I couldn’t stop thinking maybe I had missed something, maybe this one deserved a second listen. It did.
For me the second listen brought the characters to and allowed me to tie up all the loose ends. So glad I gave this one a second chance.

Historia
Jack Reilly's luck ran out just before the war did. Resigning his commission in the Alliance shortly after the end of the war with the Serkins, he went out into the galaxy looking for a job. Signing onto the Glacier Runner 17, an old and rundown cargo ship, Reilly finds himself working for a clueless captain, mixed up in an intergalactic conspiracy, on the run from assassins, and involved with two women in relationships that he could only call "complicated". And that's just book one. Follow Lt. Jack Reilly and his partner, Major Mitchel, through their adventures.

A Fun Space Adventure
Revisado: 04-20-23
A great sci-fi series with twist and turns, adventure, and romance. The characters are smart and quick witted, I especially liked Max. I enjoyed the main narrator, Dave Cruse, and the voices he used for the different characters. There was a chapter or two though that the audio quality suddenly was poor. Then when they changed the story’s perspective to one of the females for the 4th book, narrated by Caroline McLaughlin, it distracted me a little bit and I didn’t think she was very good, but I eventually got used to it. Overall I really enjoyed it and am interested in checking out the other books from Matthew O. Duncan that take place in the same Universe.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Historia
Refuge, New Hampshire, is a small town. The kind found on postcards. Their biggest concern is the rowdy summertime revelers making their way up from Massachusetts and New York. And with most of the town's residents in neighboring Ashland, for the Fourth of July fireworks show, Refuge is quieter than usual. That is, until the Baptist church's bell starts ringing - on its own. The bell chimes faster and faster, reaching a frenetic pace, as though rung by the Devil himself. But the bell is just the beginning.

An interesting and Original Story.
Revisado: 02-13-23
I enjoyed this book, and found the story interesting and not like one I’ve read before. I was constantly trying to figure it all out, and just when I thought I knew, a new tidbit of information would cause my idea to change. What I didn’t like though, is that I would sometimes lose track of characters. I think it was a combination of the writing of the story and the range of voices that narrator was able to pull off. Also, near the end there was something that happened that I felt wasn’t explained, and I didn’t like that.

An amazing first book!
Revisado: 11-14-22
As far as I can tell, this is Erika LeClair’s first and only book so far, and I’m impressed. The story kept me guessing about what was happening and just when I was sure I knew, a new piece of information would blow it out of the water. I look forward to a second book, should one be written, that continues the story.
The narration by Shelley Reece was really good. The only problem was at times I would notice a sort of hiss, like white noise in the background. It didn't bother me that much, those times that I did notice it.

A word fueled roller coaster ride!
Revisado: 10-17-22
This was my first time listening to a Brandon Sanderson book, and I look forward to checking out his other works. I became so immersed in this story that it was able to play with my emotions. I was angry when she was angry, I was sad when she was sad…and I loved it!
