Entertaining and incredibly well written
Revisado: 11-16-24
What a fantastic way to illustrate a crazy journey in the world of finance, it felt as if Alok was enriched by the journey, rather than becoming a prisoner of his past. Loved listening to this one, incredibly timely as well.

Historia
McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

A great man to learn from
Revisado: 06-17-17
One of the few books that leaves you with tears in your eyes and gratitude in your heart for having learnt about John Adams. I truly hope more people take the time to listen/read about his life. And then to emulate or improve upon his thoughts on how to conduct ourselves in solitude, with family, old friends, in public, or with our enemies.

Can't wait to try out the principles in this book
Revisado: 08-14-16
The book started off slow, I actually stopped after the first couple of chapters. Then, picked it up again and am really glad I did. There are some great tactics laid out in the book.
After you finish the book, all you want to do is start implementing.

Historia
In We Learn Nothing, satirical cartoonist Tim Kreider turns his funny, brutally honest eye to the dark truths of the human condition, asking big questions about human-sized problems: What if you survive a brush with death and it doesn't change you? Why do we fall in love with people we don't even like? How do you react when someone you've known for years unexpectedly changes genders?

A couple of worthwhile essays
Revisado: 03-26-16
Loved his laziness manifesto. The remaining essays didn't hold much appeal for me, while somewhat enjoyable, there just wasn't enough substance to write home about.

Ultimately, Goldsworthy realizes the full complexity of Caesar's character and shows why his political and military leadership continues to resonate some 2,000 years later.

Worth listening to
Revisado: 08-16-15
I have always been fascinated by the Roman Republic and Caesar does not disappoint.
It was slightly annoying to have the author constantly getting into the details of each historical disagreement, usually about the most minor details, and gets way too semantic each time. But if you can tolerate that, it's a great overview of Caesar's life.
The narrator was great and made it very easy to follow and get into the story.
