Historia
Something new entered our world in November 2022—the first general purpose AI that could pass for a human and do the kinds of creative, innovative work that only humans could do previously. Wharton professor Ethan Mollick immediately understood what ChatGPT meant: after millions of years on our own, humans had developed a kind of co-intelligence that could augment, or even replace, human thinking. Through his writing, speaking, and teaching, Mollick has become one of the most prominent and provocative explainers of AI.

Narration is abysmal on this. Subject matter okay.. some of the historical context was interesting, but aside from that, not much else compelling to be found here. Narrator mumbled few quite a few sentences and sounds like he’s got a cold or allergies or something, so I sometimes had to take it back to relisten and try to make out what was said. In the end, I bought a written version and was able to finish.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing, this major drama-documentary series charts the definitive story of the past, present and future of humankind’s exploration of space. The Space Race is narrated by Kate Mulgrew and features a full cast.

Great story
Revisado: 08-21-20
I started cringing every single time the narrator said "NASA". It was pronounced so oddly that it was jarring. I'd be well into the story, hear what sounded like "Nassau", and have a few seconds of "What? Did I hear that correctly?"

I really wanted to like this book...
Revisado: 03-22-17
The story sounded good, but the narrator was just dreadful. I increased the reading speed because at normal speed she was agonizingly slow. She did well with the various accents required. Her voice was slow and monotone. I couldn't finish the audiobook, but would consider reading it the old fashioned way.

Historia
An IndiBound best seller, The Days of Abandonment shocked and captivated its Italian public when first published. It is the gripping story of a woman's descent into devastating emptiness after being abandoned by her husband, with two young children to care for. When she finds herself literally trapped within the four walls of their high-rise apartment, she is forced to confront her ghosts, the potential loss of her own identity, and the possibility that life may never return to normal.

I couldn't get past the narrator
Revisado: 06-27-16
The narration of this story was ABSOLUTELY grating. It actually sounded robotic at times. To me, a good narrator isn't someone who over enunciates everything but rather sounds clear and natural. I'll just read the actual book for this one instead.

When an extraordinary accident forces Lou to return home to her family, she can’t help but feel she’s right back where she started. Her body heals, but Lou herself knows that she needs to be kick-started back to life. Which is how she ends up in a church basement with the members of the Moving On support group.

More than "meh"...
Revisado: 06-13-16
I was warned not to compare this story to its predecessor, Me Before You. That was good advice because, had I done that, this would maybe have rated 1 star. What a shame the narrator isn't the same. The story seems to be intentionally (and painfully) elongated to make a novel. I rather agree with some other reviews in that I am fine to leave the story where it ended in MBY. I found the character of Lou exasperating, really quite a departure from what I had hoped to see in this story. Maybe that was the author's way of helping us to better see how her grief was playing out, but it made her very hard to connect with most of the time.
Lily was an even harder character to get into. I was, however, happy to see the softening of Camilla Traynor.
All in all, I'm firmly in the 'there wasn't really a need for a sequel' camp.

Revisado: 04-17-15
What disappointed you about She's Come Undone?
With consistently good reviews, not just on Audible but other sites as well, I thought this was going to be a good story. The narration on this is good and I was very hopeful. In the end, this book just was not for me. I found it incredibly hard to empathize with the main character - she was incredibly mean-spirited and by the end of the first couple of chapters, I found her to be rather insufferable. I found the author's attempt at deep and meaningful epiphanies to be patronizing at best. Really? Fat girl identifies with whale? This was less of a cohesive and believable story than it was just an overly - and, at times, unnecessarily graphic - rambling of a host of bad events piling on to a single character.
Has She's Come Undone turned you off from other books in this genre?
Hardly. That's like saying one spot on an apple has turned me off the fruit as a whole.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narration was perfectly paced and emotive. Too bad she didn't have a more compelling story to read.
What character would you cut from She's Come Undone?
The main character, Delores.

Historia
Thoreau's classic account of the solitary life, describing his attempts to simplify his life and sort out his priorities by living alone in a cabin beside Walden Pond for nearly two years, is one of the most influential books ever written. The bible of the environmental movement, Walden vividly portrays Thoreau's reverence for nature, and his understanding of the idea that nature is made up of crucially interrelated parts.

I can't get past the narration
Revisado: 04-13-15
The narrator read as if English was a foreign language to him, with no regard to proper inflection, pace and emphasis. The mispronunciation of words was grating, as were he awkward pauses after every few words... I'm off now to find a different version with better narration.
