Historia
Businesswoman, Sam Phillips, was quite content focusing on her single life. At 37, she didn't have the time to explore. She was never supposed to be alone, not in this world. One devastating day would crush everything she had ever known, but deep down, she knew there was more to life than business. Alexis Foster wasn't looking for love. With work commitments only growing by the day, a life of "arrangements" as a high-class escort appeared to be the way forward. After all, at 25, Alexis had all the time in the world to settle down. A simple decision would change their lives.

Not great
Revisado: 04-01-24
Could have been a decent story but too much dialogue without really character building. Gave up and stopped listening.

Historia
Hollywood powerhouse Jo is photographed making her assistant Emma laugh on the red carpet, and just like that, the tabloids declare them a couple. The so-called scandal couldn't come at a worse time - threatening Emma's promotion and Jo's new movie. As the gossip spreads, it starts to affect all areas of their lives. Paparazzi are following them outside the office, coworkers are treating them differently, and a "source" is feeding information to the media. But their only comment is “no comment”.

Not a fan of this book
Revisado: 02-18-24
I really enjoyed the previous book I listened to from this author. Mistakes were made was so much more exciting. This book felt like the characters just moaned and groaned about how much they loved the other person but how it was just impossible to get together. It felt redundant and somewhat boring. I do think the characters were well developed, though, and the readers were good.

Wanted to Like it!

I tried to listen to this book when I first bought it months ago. I stopped. Then I tried again because the story was really intriguing. I just couldn't get past the narration. The narrator ruined the book for me. He had very little personality and his voice was difficult to listen to. He spoke very softly for every other word which made it hard to get the idea of what the story was about. I think I'll have to get the actual book for this one.

Historia
Inspired by a true story. On Christmas Eve, 1971, Flight 153 departed from Houston, Texas, carrying 140 people bound for Rio de Janeiro. Flight 153 never reached its destination. It seemed to vanish into thin air. The plane is caught up in a large thunderstorm and is forced to veer hundreds of miles off course and crashes in the jungle approximately 10 miles west of the Xingu River. The Xingu River is 900 miles long, infested with alligators, snakes, and blood sucking insects, man-eating fish and hostile Indians.

Wow!!
Revisado: 06-16-20
I NEVER write reviews but this book was one of the best books I've heard/read in a long time. The narrator was amazing, the story compelling. I wish that it hadn't ended. I keep thinking about what Adunni is doing now....wish there was (and maybe there will be) a sequel. The writer, Abi Dare, magically wove her story of Adunni's life in such a way that the horror of her experiences were tempered with the joy that Adunni finds in little things. I will listen to this one again!!
