The mysteries go on and on
Revisado: 04-14-24
This is one of the best mysteries I’ve ever listened to. I don’t usually enjoy mysteries, but this was a really good one. The different layers just kept pulling the reader on and on into the story.

Love the narrator! Love the author!
Revisado: 02-12-23
These are some of the best books I’ve ever listened to. The historical events that occurred during this period of time along with the way of life and hardships people in this area of the country lived through, especially being told from the standpoint of Norwegian immigrants make these book so interesting! There are so many historical details and the characters lives are so woven together that I still hear something new even when I listen to them again. In addition they are so wholesome and are filled with so many Biblical truths that they are comforting to listen to over and over.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

I don’t know when I’ve enjoyed a book so much as I have this one. I’ve laughed so much through it. It goes to show that out with appearances don’t always reveal the Inward man.

Historia
Beautiful, sophisticated and endlessly ambitious Lily Bart endeavours to climb the social ladder of New York's elite by securing a good match and living beyond her means. Now nearing 30 years of age and having rejected several proposals, forever in the hope of finding someone better, her future prospects are threatened. A damning commentary of 20th-century social order, Edith Wharton's tale established her as one of the greatest British novelists of the 1900s.

Too sad
Revisado: 07-03-21
There is nothing uplifting about the story. All through the story Lily faces one bad situation after another. The ending is so distressing and disappointing. I wish I never listen to it. On top of that it wasn’t a very good story at all.
