What is transgender and gender fluidity? What does God's word actually say about these issues? How can the gospel be good news for someone experiencing gender dysphoria? How should churches respond? This warm, faithful, and careful book helps Christians understand what the Bible says about gender identity. It will help us to engage lovingly, thoughtfully, and faithfully with one of the most explosive cultural discussions of our day. If you want to learn more and love better, and are open to considering what God has to say about sex and gender, this hope-filled book is for you.

Difficult Topic
Revisado: 11-27-18
It's great that someone wrote a christian view on the topic. Book goes on details how christianity views man and woman, how they see Transgender and what they think about gender disporia. What they think abou bathroom bills, public schools, how trans folks should live and how should christians accept trans people. I liked the fact that they agree that GD is a real thing. I am tou not sure if this is a general view of the church or just a view of the author, because I know about priests who have a different view. I am not anymore at the church because I disagree with the messages on many points, and transgenderism is just one. And I had the feeling at the end of unlogical conclutions and that there were mentioned only those facts which were in favour of the statement. But it's good that there is a statement so you can understand what to expect and understand the behaviour of believers. Bring a lot of emphaty and listen. It's good to understand people around and their motivations.

Historia
The transgender movement has hit breakneck speed. In the space of a year, it’s gone from something that most Americans had never heard of to a cause claiming the mantle of civil rights. But can a boy truly be “trapped” in a girl’s body? Can modern medicine really “reassign” sex? Is sex something “assigned” in the first place? What’s the loving response to a friend or child experiencing a gender-identity conflict? What should our law say on these issues? When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment provides thoughtful answers to all of these questions.

Anti Trans*
Revisado: 06-04-18
The author not even for a second acknowledges that there might be the possibility for transgenderism. In one part he agrees that there is a fundamental brain difference between sexes and then puts all transgenders either into the group of autogynephiliacs or into homosexuals. And then says that all transgenders suffer from some traumas. This book describes from my point of view, a minor group of "transexuals" which de-transitioned, but definitely not the majority and definitely not my experience with transsexuals and transgender people.
Still, I recommend this book, just to have a second opinion, but do not make up your mind just based on this book.
I am from EU so I am not judging the policies in US, but in EU there are countries with far more liberal laws, then described in this book.
